The Lake Charles Summer ID was held on Sunday May 19, 2024 at Barbe High School.  This was an open event that consisted of high school prospects in the 2025-2028 classes and served as an identifier for our Future Games and Jr. Future Games teams this summer, as well as any of our future invite-only events, such as the Top Prospect Games and the State Games.  All players in attendance went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman and Blast, the 60 yard dash using Swift Performance, and much more.  Pitchers were able to throw bullpens and received their metrics off of Trackman, which include data points such as pitch velocity, spin rate, horizontal & vertical movement & much more.  

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports for the position players who were in attendance.

SCOUTING REPORTS (POSITION PLAYERS)

+ Grayson Aguillard, ST MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL HIGH SCHOOL (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: 2B/OF 
Body: 5-10, 153-pounds. Athletic and lean frame.
Hit: RHH. Upright and balanced set-up with a simple load and stride. Gains ground forward during load, but stays behind the ball to contact and works slightly uphill through extension, while working on a line through the middle of the field.
Arm: RH. INF-75 mph. Short, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Simple set, approaches the ball head on and fields with average hands and actions, throws were accurate for the most part across the diamond.

+ Carson Arms, Catholic (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: C/RHP 
Body: 6-0, 170-pounds. Athletic and lean with broad shoulders.
Hit: RHH. Upright and balanced with a simple load and stride. Works down to contact and slightly uphill through extension with some present bat speed, gap to gap type hitter.
Arm: RH. C-76 mph. Short/quick, 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.04-2.14 pop times. Good hip mobility and flexibility, creates a small target for pitchers, clean transfer and footwork with an above average arm.

+ Layne Baguex, Lacassine High School (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: C/1B 
Body: 6-2, 190-pounds. Broad shoulders with present physicality.
Hit: RHH. Slightly wider base with bat head rested on back shoulder, aggressive toe-tap load. Rotational hitter with an uphill path to contact and through the ball, works mostly to the pull-side with some pop that way.
Arm: RH. C-80 mph. INF-81 mph. Short, 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.03-2.11 pop times. Above average footwork on throw downs, strong arm, transfer could be cleaned up some, solid receiver

+ Cy Barrow, South Beauregard High School (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/RHP 
Body: 5-11, 150-pounds. Athletic and lean.
Hit: RHH. Starts open in a slightly wider base and gets back square with a simple load and stride. Hands work first in an inside path to contact with level extension, repeats swing, stays balanced and works through the middle of the field.
Arm: RH. OF-76 mph. Long arm path, OTT slot.
Defense: Good reads, attacks ball head on, fields with one hand off left foot before using athletic footwork to work through a quick crowhop.

+ AK Batterton, Sam Houston High School (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: C 
Body: 5-5, 142-pounds. Shorter, stocky build.
Hit: RHH. Starts with a high hand-set and open, uses a toe-tap load and stride. Steep path to contact working down to contact and uphill through extension with a one-handed finish, comes out of back leg some and works mostly up the middle.
Arm: RH. C-63 mph. Short, 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.43-2.51 pop times. Average receiver and blocker with solid catch and throw skills, and improving footwork.

+ Ryan Berard, TEURLINGS CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/2B 
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds. Athletic build with some present physicality.
Hit: RHH. Upright stance with a simple load and stride. Quiet swing, not a lot of moving parts, takes a direct path to contact with level extension, stays balanced, while working gap-to-gap.
Arm: RH. INF-78 mph. Short/quick, 3/4 slot.
Defense: Solid actions, fields with a quiet glove out front and feet do a good job moving through the ball, would like to see him get rid of a little quicker at times.

+ Lawton Bordelon, ST LOUIS CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL (LA), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/LHP 
Body: 5-9, 135-pounds. Lean and athletic.
Hit: RHH. Tall stance and uses a toe-tap load and stride. Flat to slightly uphill path to contact with uphill extension, leans back onto back leg at contact and works gap to gap with some loft.
Arm: LH. OF-65 mph. Long, loose arm stroke, high 3/4 release.
Defense: Took good direct routes in the outfield, gathers feet behind the ball and receives with one hand off right foot before moving into crow hop. Pretty accurate throws from the OF.

+ Konner Boudreaux, ST LOUIS CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP 
Body: 6-2, 170-pounds. Physical.
Hit: RHH. Narrow and slightly open stance with hands rested at shoulder height, simple load and stride. Stays connected with an inside path to contact and works slightly uphill through extension finishing with two hands, gap-to-gap approach.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. OF-83 mph. Compact, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: OF: approaches the ball slowly, stays behind and fields with one hand off his left foot. INF: Quiet glove and fields with soft hands out front, presets to 1st base on balls right at him with active feet, showed quick release on both lateral plays and bounder.

+ Nathan Burleigh, Saint John Plaquemine (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: C/1B 
Body: 5-10, 195-pounds. Medium-sized build with a strong lower-half.
Hit: RHH. Wider stance in his lower-half, uses a simple load and stride. Higher hand set, works down to contact and slightly uphill through extension, maintains balance well, and stays on the ball through the middle of the field.
Arm: RH. C-72 mph. Short, 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.08-2.19 pop times. Starts high in his crouch and comes up some, solid transfer with average footwork.

+ Andrew Clayton, GRAND OAKS H S (TX), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/2B 
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Athletic and lean.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open and upright stance, simple load and stride. Hands take a steep downward path to contact with slightly uphill extension, finishes tall in his stance, works mostly up the middle.
Arm: RH. INF-82 mph. Longer arm path, lower 3/4 slot.
Defense: Got decent reads off the bat and cut the correct angles a couple times, especially on thge back hand, average hands, and plays through it with solid footwork.

+ Connor Courmier, Vinton High School (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: C 
Body: 5-8, 145-pounds. 
Hit: RHH. Open and upright stance with a leg kick load and stride. Once front foot lands, he aggressively rotates his lower-half to turn the barrel on-plane to contact with slightly uphill extension, hits against a firm front side and stays balanced from start to finish.
Arm: RH. C-71 mph. Short, OTT slot.
Defense: 2.04-2.14 pop times. Athletic with quick feet on throw downs, received the ball clean, average arm strength.

+ Allen Cross, SILVERLINE MONTESSORI SCHOOL - SHADOW CREEK (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: 2B/SS 
Body: 5-8, 130-pounds. Athletic.
Hit: RHH. Wide base and uses a toe-tap load and stride. Hands drop during load and works flat to contact with level extension, some length at times during swing.

Defense: Plays low to the ground, fields the ball a little deep into his body, average hands and actions, showed a quick release on forehand play. 

+ Charlie Donaldson, Sam Houston High School (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/LHP 
Body: 5-10, 155-pounds. Athletic with a ton of room to add strength.
Hit: LHH. Upright and narrow set-up, glides out with front foot during a controlled load and stride. Hands start high, but he gets his barrel on-plane early as he loads and stays on-plane to contact and through extension, gap-to-gap type hitter with more power to come as he gets stronger.
Arm: LH. OF-82 mph. Compact arm swing, 3/4 slot.
Defense: Good reads, attacks ball aggressively but under control, quickly gathers feet behind it, fields off right side of body with one hand into a crow hop.

+ Coleton Donaldson, Sam Houston High School (LA), 2027
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP 
Body: 5-11, 135-pounds. Athletic and wiry with room to add strength.
Hit: RHH. Athletic, balanced set-up with a simple load and stride. Stays flat to contact with level extension and a two-handed finish, front shoulder stays in on the ball and drives the ball well on a line through the middle of the field.
Arm: RH. INF-76 mph. Short arm action, 3/4 release.
Defense: Good prep step, active and choppy steps to set-up to receive the ball out front and clean, made a nice play to his forehand fielding with one hand and throwing from a lower slot.

+ Cobe Durio, Vinton High School (LA), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/2B 
Body: 5-8, 130-pounds. Athletic.
Hit: RHH. Taller set-up with a modified knee to knee leg kick load. Barrel gets behind the ball early and works uphill through extension, middle to opposite field approach with some loft.
Arm: RH. OF-76 mph. Long arm swing, 3/4 release.
Defense: Fields with one hand clean off his left foot into a crow hop with average actions.

+ Benjamin Ellender, Breaux Bridge High School (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: C 
Body: 5-10, 175-pounds. Stocky and physical.
Hit: RHH. Upright and balanced stance, simple load and stride. Bat head works down to contact and level through extension with a two-handed finish, line drive hitter middle to pull-side.
Arm: RH. C-73 mph. Short, 3/4 slot.
Defense: 2.12-2.23 pop times. Solid transfer with quick footwork and average arm strength, pretty flexible in his hips, creates a good small target for arms.

Hit: RHH. Athletic set-up and in his legs with a simple load and stride. Simple swing with a direct path and level extension, works on a line to all fields.

Defense: Solid actions, fields with soft hands into a funnel, moved well laterally and showed a quick release when he had to.

Defense: Fielded everything clean off the left side of his body, before moving through his crow hop with solid footwork with an above average arm.

Defense: Plays low to ground, moves around with athletic footwork and was pretty accurate with throws.

+ Denton Hester, Captain Shreve High School (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP

Defense: Moved around well for a bigger framed infielder, likely profiles at a corner spot, played through ball well on bounder and forehand, showed a quick release when he had to.

Body: 6-3, 170-pounds. Projectable, tall, and lean.
Hit: RHH. Narrow and tall stance, uses a leg kick load and stride. Lands with a narrow base, but stays balanced, creates natural loft with a direct path and uphill extension with a two-handed finish.
Arm: RH. OF-73 mph. Long arm path, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Long strider and can cover some ground, fields everything clean off left foot before using athletic footwork to work into crow hop.

+ Kortlin Kyle, Vinton High School (LA), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/3B 
Body: 5-9, 155-pounds. Stocky build.

Hit: RHH. Upright and balanced, toe-tap load. Simple, short, direct path to contact with level extension. Line drive/hard groundball hitter from gap to gap.
Arm: RH. C-80 mph. INF-85 mph. Short/quick, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: 1.86-1.98 pop times. INF: Good footwork, average hands and actions, showed a quick release on forehand play. C: Quality receiver and blocker with a strong arm and solid transfers and footwork on throwdowns

Hit: RHH. Upright stance with a toe-tap load and stride. Level path to contact with flat extension and a two-handed finish, some present bat speed, works mostly middle to pull-side.

Defense: 2.05-2.14 pop times. Worked from a one knee down stance, clean exchanges and footwork with developing arm strength.

Body: 6-4, 195-pounds. Tall and lean frame with a high-waist and a ton of room to add strength.

Defense: Stays pretty patient and lets ball get to him, received everything clean with one hand off left foot before moving into crow hop.

Positional Profile: SS/RHP One of the top two-way uncommitted prospects in the state's 2026 class.
Body: 6-0, 170-pounds. Athletic and physical.
Hit: RHH. Athletic and balanced with good rhythm in his hands, uses a knee-to-knee load. Strong wrists and forearms take a direct path down to contact with level extension, swings with controlled aggression, and shows present gap-to-gap pop.
Arm: RH. INF-84 mph. Compact, 3/4 slot.
Defense: Caught everything clean with two hands out front with solid actions and footwork, as well as accurate throws across the diamond.

+ Avery Stutes, North Vermilion High School (LA), 2027
Positional Profile: C/OF 
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Physical.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open and narrow stance, simple load and stride. Pushes hands back during load and bars front arm, flat path to contact with length and stays level through extension working mostly to the pull-side.

Hit: RHH. Wide base, hands below shoulder height, simple load. Handsy swing without much lower-half involvement, punches the bat head straight to the ball with level extension.

Defense: Takes a straight on approach to the ball, fields the ball a little deep with average hands and footwork.

+ Christian Wold, South Beauregard High School (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: 1B/RHP
