Weekend Recap: Quick Hits

Over the weekend Prep Baseball Report Louisiana spent time at games all across the state. Every week we will do a short, weekly roundup of prospects seen, as well as noteworthy performances that have been sent in to us.

As the vast majority of the state got hammered with rain this week, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana only had the opportunity to spend time at a few games. On Monday, we were on hand to check out Teurlings Catholic, who played at Nicholls State University.

+ Louisiana Lafayette commit, Hayden Cantrelle, was impressive making several difficult plays at SS, showed off his loose left-handed swing banging out a couple of hits, and also showed a solid run tool with 4.1 home to 1^st on a bunt.

+ Louisiana State commit, Nick Webre, showed off his strength as he hammered an opposite field double that beat the left fielder deep.

+ Southeaster Louisiana commit, Blake Way, hammered a long grand slam homer against Holy Cross over the weekend.

+ 2017 RHP Cayde Miller (St. Michael’s) went 7 innings giving up 5 hits, 4 ER, and 7 Ks.

+ Tyler Theriot went 6 inning, complete game win, 12 Ks and only giving up 1 hit.

+ Ethan Campo went 6 & 1/3 innings with 12 Ks, allowing just one hit to get a 3-0 win against Pearl River.

+ Brett Fisackerly went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and scored 3 runs in a win vs Thibodeaux.

+ Through 12 games, LSU commit, Jake Slaughter is hitting .441 with 13 SBs and 18 runs scored.

+ Nick Ray (Jesuit HS) hit 2 more home runs over the weekend.

+ Brandon Briuglio also hit 2 home runs this weekend, as well pitching 7 strong innings against Sam Houston.

+ Tulane commit, Stephen Sepcich, went 4-for-7 with 2 doubles and 1 triple.

+ Cameron Fontenot went 4-for-6 with 3 RBI and a double.

+ Hunter Stanley (St. Thomas Aquinas) went complete game, 3 hit shutout with 10 Ks, leading STA to a 2-0 victory over Holy Cross
