Today, we take a closer look at five uncommitted position players from Saturday's event.  The Louisiana All-State Games saw great performances by a number of players, across all classes, however, the list of names below really stood out to our staff.

2022 C/3B Caleb Webb (Walker HS)

Physical 5'10" 185 lbs. frame, with a strong lower half; Webb has been a steady riser since this summer and on Saturday he continued to show why he's moving up the charts.  Hits from a slightly open stance, with rhythm in his hands; Webb uses a modified leg kick to get into his launch position and anchors into the ground with his feet, which allows his lower half to generate bat speed and power that produced an exit velocity of 95 mph.  Defensively, Webb continued to show that he is a solid catcher.  Registered a pop time of 1.90 and a positional velocity of 76 mph.  Webb is a "blue collar" type of player who has the makeup that you want in a guy behind the dish. 

2022 3B Grant Comeaux (Barbe HS)

Tall, athletic, 6'1" 185 lbs. frame and still developing.  The 3B from Barbe HS has been another player that has been impressing each time out.  Hitting from an upright, open stance; Comeaux has a quiet and simple load that allows him to consistently square up baseballs, especially to the middle of the field.  The power has steadily improved since the summer for Comeaux, as he produced a 92 mph exit velocity Saturday.  Defensively, Comeaux has turned himself into a reliable 3B by improving his footwork and reads off the bat.  Saturday, we saw Comeaux make two nice plays during the game portion; one right at him and one to his forehand side.  Comeaux comes from a baseball family, with his older brother Braden still at Rice University.  

2022 SS/RHP Gavin Guidry (Barbe HS)

Tall, athletic, wiry frame with plenty of room to add strength.  Guidry's name will be heard a lot as we move into the spring, as he looks to be one of the catalysts in another strong Barbe lineup.  Posted a 6.75 60 time, 92 mph INF velo, 93 mph Exit velo, and was 88-92 mph off the mound.  The #1 player in our 2022 class showed that he can do just about anything on a baseball diamond.  Hitting from a tall, slightly opened stance; Guidry strides out, while leaving his hands locked backed to create a natural stretch once hit front foot plants into the ground.  Had a professional BP round, consistently squaring up baseballs up the middle and to the opposite field gap with authority.  Soft hands, active feet, and a good internal clock; the SS showed off his advanced defensive skills Saturday as well.  Guidry has several big time offers, but still remains uncommitted.  Whoever lands the 2022 grad will be getting a "swiss army knife" type of a player.

2023 C/RHP Zach Schoenborn (Parkway HS)

Physical, 6'1" 195 lbs. frame; Schoenborn has been a player that we've closely followed since he attended the Junior Future Games in 2019.  On Saturday he ended off his fall with a bang by showing why he's one of the top uncommitted catchers in Louisiana.  Hits from a tall, open stance, with rhythm in his hands and a simple load.  The C had one of the best BP rounds of the day, showing a short path to the baseball with good extension that produced an exit velocity of 94 mph, with more power to come.  Defensively, he posted a 1.92 pop time with a 75 mph positional velocity.  Schoenborn will be a player to closely follow this spring.

2024 3B/RHP John Pearson (West Monroe HS)

Physical, imposing, 6'0" 210 lbs. frame; Pearson comes from a well known baseball family and is the next in line to carry the torch.  Hitting from an athletic, balanced stance; Pearson has a simple approach with minimal movement that allowed him to have an impressive BP session at Saturday's event that included posting an event best 100 mph exit velocity.  On the mound, Pearson ran his FB up to 86 mph, sitting 82-85 mph, while pounding the zone with strikes.  Also flashed a "12-6" CB that he was able to land for strikes and a developing CH that sat 74-77 mph.  The West Monroe Rebels will be a team to watch out for this year, as John joins his older brother on the diamond.
