Preseason Prospect ID: Stats Breakdown

The annual Preseason Propsect I.D. took place on Saturday January 25th at Mandeville High School in Mandeville, LA. The invite only event saw 35+ of the best underclass prospects from across the state of Louisiana.
We begin our instant analysis from Saturday’s event with a look at some top statistical performers. We measured six separate categories and we’ll detail the leaders in each category below.
Tuesday’s 60-times were eye-popping, as 8+ players turned in sub-7.20 times on grass. Reid Broussard (Live Oak, 2022), Parker Coley (Sterlington, 2021) and Chris Dennis (Evangel Christian, 2020) each turned in an event best 60-yard dash time of the day, posting a 7.00-second. Connor Adams ( St. Amant, 2020) and Connor Rodrigue (Live Oak, 2022) were the other two players to finish under 7.05-seconds, with times of 7.02-seconds, and 7.04-seconds, respectively.
On the mound, the Preseason I.D. saw 4 players flash a max velocity of 80 mph or better. Leading the pack was Michael Sikes (Faith Academy, AL 2020) posting an 85 mph max velocity on Tuesday. Blake Lobell (Springfield, 2022) and Connor Adams (St. Amant, 2020) also had quality outings on the mound, running their fastballs up to 83 mph and 82 mph respectively.
Saturday’s event also saw 10 players post an exit velocity of 88 or better including Caleb Stelly (Parkview Baptist, 2022) who led the way with a 95 mph exit velocity from a tee, while also flashing solid pull side strength during batting practice. Connor Adams (St. Amant, 2020) posted an impressive 94 mph exit velocity while Connor Rodrigue (Live Oak, 2022) rounded out the top 3 flashing electric bat speed and posting a 93 mph exit velocity.
Blake Lobell (Springfield, 2022) led the way on the infield positional velocity leaderboard checking in with an event best 89 mph infield velocity, joining Luke Hill (Episcopal, 2022) followed him up with a positional velocity of 84 mph while Caleb Ross (West Monroe, 2022) rounded out the top 3 at 82 mph.
Parker Coley (Sterlington, 2021) topped the leaderboard with an event best 91 mph outfield velocity, while Connor Rodrigue (Live Oak, 2022) was next posting an 85 mph OF velo. Rounding out the top 4 were Connor Adams (St. Amant, 2020) and Michael Sikes (Faith Academy, AL 2020) who both posted 83 mph positional velocities.
Blake Lobell (Springfield, 2022) also showed off high-level arm strength behind the dish, posting an event best 79 mph catcher velocity. While Jake Lashley (Winnfield, 2020) and Caleb Easterling (Live Oak, 2022) also showed off top end arm strength, posting 78 and 73 mph positional velocities respectively.
Blake Lobell (Springfield, 2022) also turned in the top catcher pop time of the event with a time of 2.00-seconds with clean transfers and accurate throws. Jake Lashley (Winnfield, 2020) also showed off quick, clean transfers with accurate, on-the-bag throws, posting a pop time of 2.01-seconds.
