Senior Games: Stats Breakdown

The Senior Games took place on Sunday, October 13th at Cowboy Diamond on the Campus of McNeese State University. The open event saw 40+ senior prospects from across the state of Louisiana.

We begin our instant analysis from Sunday’s event with a look at some top statistical performers. We measured six separate categories and we’ll detail the leaders in each category below.

10+ players turned in sub-7.10 second 60s on Sunday. Andrew Ashby (Iota HS, LA) turned in the top 60-yard dash time of the event, posting a 6.54-second time. While Reese Lipoma (St. Amant HS, LA) and Parker Stewart (St. Thomas Aquinas HS, LA) both turned in sub-6.80 times as Lipoma clocked in a 6.75 and Stewart with a 6.80. 

John Blanchard (St. Thomas Aquinas HS, LA) led the way on the mound, as the strong 5-foot-10 right-hander showed off a quality three-pitch mix, and ran his fastball up to an event best 88 mph. While Thomas Walsh (Alexandria HS, LA) also showed well on Saturday, running his fastball up to 87 mph.

Rylon Ganey (Tioga HS, LA) led the exit velocity leaderboard on Saturday, posting 97 mph off a tee. Brennan Hamner (Vadebilt Catholic HS, LA) posted a 93 mph exit velocity checking in at the number 2 spot. While Andrew Ashby (Iota HS, LA) and Parker Stewart (St. Thomas Aquinas HS, LA) also showed off high-level strength and bat speed, posting a 91 mph exit velocities. 

Blake Pearson (Ascension Episcopal HS, LA) showed off quality arm strength on Sunday, posting an event best 84 mph positional velocity from the infield. While Thomas Walsh (Alexandria HS, LA) and Hunter Rabalais (Anacoco HS, LA) also followed him at the top of the leaderboard, posting a positional velocity of 82 mph.

Caleb Washington (Loureaville HS, LA) topped the leaderboard with an event best 90 mph positional velocity from the outfield, while Reese Lipoma (St. Amant HS, LA) checked-in right behind him with an 89 mph positional velocity. 

Darion Duhon (North Vermilion HS, LA) posted an event best 78 mph positional velocity for catchers, while also posting a 2.15-second pop time. While Ben Stevens (Barbe HS, LA) also found himself atop the leaderboard, posting a 77 mph positional velocity, as well as an event best 1.90-second pop time.
