The PBR staff was impressed with the talent on hand at Saturday's event, across all classes.  As we continue our post-event coverage, today we take a look at some pitchers who stood out at the event.

2022 RHP Gavin Guidry (Barbe HS)
Tall, athletic, wiry frame with plenty of room to add strength; Guidry excelled in every portion of the event on Saturday, and when he took the mound during the game portion, it was no different.  FB sat 88-91 mph, topping out at an event best 92 mph, and he was able to command the pitch both down and up in the zone.  Combining that FB with his near "12-6" shaped CB that sat 75-76 mph; Guidry made hitters lives tough.  Barbe looks to have another loaded team this season and Guidry will certainly be one of the keys to their success.

2022 RHP Jimmie Johnson (Central BR HS)
Athletic frame with some room to add strength; Johnson was a bulldog on the mound Saturday, working quick and throwing with intent.  FB sat 85-87 mph, topping out at 88 mph with some late arm side action.  His out pitch, however, was his SL that sat 75-78 mph, with late break in the zone.  Johnson was able to get ahead of hitters with his FB, then would go to his SL to put them away.  Johnson has been on our radar for quite some time and will continue to be as we head into this spring.

2022 LHP Dawson Curtin (Live Oak HS)
Physical, stable, 6.0" 188 lbs. frame, with a quick arm action; LHP definitely made a name for himself on Saturday.  Curtin's FB sat 84-86 mph, topping out at 87 mph, spinning at almost 2200 RPM.  Flashed a developing SL/CH as well.  The FB was a dominant pitch on Saturday for Curtin, and as he continues to develop his secondary pitches he could become a nightmare for opposing hitters.

2023 RHP Brandon Levy (Parkway HS)
Athletic build with a strong lower half and a short, quick arm action; the UL commit was another standout at Saturday's event.  FB sat 85-86 mph, topping out at 87 mph, consistently spinning at almost 2400 RMP, with a late cutting action.  He was able to keep his FB down in the zone and away from hitters.  CB sat 68-70 mph and was an effective pitch due to the difference in speed, while keeping his same arm action.  Look for Levy to be one of the leaders up north at Parkway HS this spring.
