On Saturday, January 15th, the PBR Louisiana Staff traveled to Sam Houston High School to host the Lake Charles Preseason ID. The event featured prospects of all HS classes from around the state and provided our staff an ample look at every player in attendance.

We continue the analysis from the event with a look at all of the pitchers. We broke down the top-five pitchers on the day followed by the rest of the pitchers in attendance.

TOP PITCHERS

1. Jake Rider, Sam Houston, 2024
Positional Profile: RHP A good uncommitted '24 arm to follow this spring
Body: 6-2, 210-pounds.
Delivery: Starts off to 1B side and stays there, short stride to 1B side, high leg lift and then strides across body some, hides ball well, repeats delivery with minimal effort
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose with a high 3/4 release
FB: T86.9, 86-87 mph. Good life through the zone, commanded the FB to both sides of the plate T2295, 2237 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. Short break with good depth and "11-5" shape T2160, 2105 average rpm.
CH: 75-75 mph. Tunnels extremely well off FB with good fade, can land to both sides of plate for strikes T1862, 1774 average rpm.

2. Nik Toups, Sam Houston, 2024
Positional Profile: LHP/1B A really good uncommitted southpaw to follow in the state's '24 class
Body: 6-3, 228-pounds.
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of rubber and stays there, short stride to 3B side, brings glove up overhead and back down, shorter leg lift, turns front side inward to hide ball, swings lead leg out and strides on line finishing off to 3B side a little, moves well down the slope with minimal effort
Arm Action: LH. Long and loose with a 3/4 release
FB: T85.9, 83-86 mph. Arm-side sink and run, commanded the ball well to arm side T2078, 2016 average rpm.
SL: 69-72 mph. Sweeping shape with more lateral break than depth T2059, 1935 average rpm.
CH: 76-76 mph. Really good secondary offering that tunnels well off FB with late fade T2145, 2074 average rpm.

3. Jairus Miller, Barbe, 2025
Positional Profile: LHP
Body: 6-0, 150-pounds.
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there, short stride to 3B side, brings glove overhead then back down, high leg lift, sinks and drives down slope and finishes on-line
Arm Action: LH. Short arm path with a 3/4 release
FB: T80.3, 78-80 mph. Arm side sink T1942, 1870 average rpm.
SL: 71-73 mph. Sharp with late bite down in the zone T2303, 2243 average rpm.
CH: 75-78 mph. Firm CH with sink T1447, 1397 average rpm.

4. Ashton Bultron, Sam Houston, 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP A good uncommitted 2025 to follow in the state
Body: 5-11, 198-pounds. Physical, strong lower-half
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there throughout a controlled and repeatable delivery, strides and rocks back with right foot, high leg lift, strides on-line and finishes square to his target
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick with a 3/4-high 3/4 release
FB: T83.4, 81-83 mph. Stays truetrhoguh the zone, commanded it to the glove side T2015, 1942 average rpm.
CB: 68-70 mph. "11-5" shape with good depth, landed consistently for strikes T2298, 2238 average rpm.
SL: 68-70 mph. "10-4" shape with good lateral break and some depth T2391, 2275 average rpm.

5. Carter Wilson, Sulphur, 2026
Positional Profile: OF/LHP Former Jr.Future Gamer
Body: 5-10, 135-pounds.
Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and stays there, strides out to 3B side, brings glove down then back up during leg lift, shoulders stay on-line to his target down the slope and finishes square to his target
Arm Action: LH. Medium arm circle with a 3/4 release
FB: T73.8, 72-74 mph. Arm side run with good sink on 2S FB T1881, 1834 average rpm.
CB: 61-63 mph. Near "12-6" shape with good depth T1440, 1423 average rpm.
SL: 65-67 mph. Shorter lateral break with some sweep T1822, 1773 average rpm.
CH: 67-67 mph. Good fade on the CH and tunnels it well with FB T1763, 1716 average rpm.

Cole Flanagan, Sam Houston, 2025
Positional Profile: LHP/OF A good two-way prospect to follow in the state's '25 class
Body: 6-0, 205-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Starts on 3B side of rubber and stays there, strides directly to the 3B side before using a high leg lift, moves with some aggression down the slope and finishes slightly off to the 3B side
Arm Action: LH. Shorter arm stroke with a 3/4 release
FB: T82.8, 80-82 mph. Showed ability to go glove side and arm side with sink and run T2041, 1992 average rpm.
CB: 69-71 mph. Short and tight "1-7" break T2343, 2285 average rpm.
CH: 74-76 mph. Good late fade and sink T1525, 1396 average rpm.

Landon Gentry, Sam Houston, 2025
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-2, 180-pounds.
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber, strides out to 1B side and moves to 1B side of rubber, strides on-line and finishes square to his target
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action with a 3/4-low 3/4 release
FB: T78.9, 76-78 mph. Heavier FB with some sink T1982, 1874 average rpm.
CB: 66-68 mph. More sweep with little depth T1789, 1759 average rpm.
CH: 68-68 mph. Some fade with a little sink, keeps same arm stroke T1414, 1376 average rpm.

Marcus Gradney Jr., St. Edmund Catholic, 2025
Positional Profile: OF/SS One of the top uncommitted players in the state's '25 class
Body: 6-0, 190-pounds. Physical, athletic, broad shoulders with narrow waist
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and stays there, strides out to 1B side, before lifting and sinking into back hip, moves aggressively down the mound, finishes on-line
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick with a 3/4 release
FB: T83.5, 81-83 mph. Good life through the zone with some run at times T2326, 2276 average rpm.
CB: 66-69 mph. "10-4" shape with equal amounts of lateral break and depth T2291, 2193 average rpm.
CH: 76-79 mph. Firm with some sink T1727, 1681 average rpm.
KN: 72-72 mph. Kills spin, drops off table similar to a SPLIT

Braylin Harris, Opelousas Catholic, 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/OF
Body: 5-8, 160-pounds. Athletic and wiry
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and stays there, strides out to 1B side before using a high leg lift, repeats delivery with minimal effort
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm action with a 3/4 release
FB: T74.3, 71-74 mph. Commanded FB well, showed some arm-side run at times T1970, 1864 average rpm.
CB: 62-64 mph. "11-5" with average break and depth T2010, 1912 average rpm.
CH: 68-69 mph. Some fade and sink T1334, 1305 average rpm.

Cameron Heflin, Sam Houston, 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/2B
Body: 5-7, 120-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts on 1B side of rubber and stays there, strides out to 1B side before using a high leg lift, turns front shoulder inward to hide ball and rocks onto back side, finishes off to 1B side some
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action with an over the top release
FB: T67.6, 66-68 mph. FB runs and sinks to arm side, commanded it to arm side T1858, 1724 average rpm.
CB: 56-58 mph. "11-5" wit short lateral break and good depth down in the zone T1300, 1238 average rpm.

Caden Hendricks, DeRidder, 2023
Positional Profile: LHP/1B
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Tall and lean
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there, strides to 3B side, high leg lift, strides on-line and finishes square to target
Arm Action: LH. Ball comes out of glove and straight up, shorter arm path with a 3/4 release
FB: T67.7, 66-68 mph. Showed glove-side command, some cut on FB T1867, 1821 average rpm.
CB: 56-57 mph. Bigger "1-7" shape with average spin and depth T1671, 1620 average rpm.
SL: 61-63 mph. Releases from a lower slot with more depth than lateral break T1683, 1670 average rpm.
CH: 61-62 mph. Showed some fade with little sink, kept same arm stroke and tunneled off FB T1519, 1515 average rpm.

Michael Henry, Holy Savior Menard, 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-0, 195-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there, strides to 1B side, high leg lift, repeats delivery well with minimal effort and stays on-line
Arm Action: RH. Longer arm stroke with a high 3/4 release

Noah Snead, Sam Houston, 2026

Body: 6-0, 165-pounds.

Arm Action: LH. Short arm path, ball goes straight up out of glove into a 3/4 release

FB: T82.5, 81-82 mph. Some life through the zone, can command to glove and arm side T2154, 2105 average rpm.
CB: 70-71 mph. Short and tight "11-5" break T2323, 2268 average rpm.
