On Saturday, September, the PBR Louisiana Staff traveled to LSU-Eunice to host the Louisiana Senior Games. The event featured more than 40 2023 prospects from around the state and provided our staff an ample look at every player in attendance.

We continue the analysis from the event with a look at all of the pitchers. We broke down the top-five pitchers on the day followed by the rest of the position players in attendance. The event featured plenty of quality Senior Prospects.

TOP Pitchers

1. Lucas Harrington, Southside  (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-9, 180-pounds. Compact and sturdy frame
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout a controlled delivery with some effort finishing square to home plate
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick arm action, release from a 3/4 slot
FB: T89.5, 85-89 mph. FB had really good life through the zone and came out of the hand well, control was spotty at times T2091, 1945 average rpm.
CB: 74-80 mph. "11-5" with well above average spin rates up to 2702 RPM, sharp with late break, has the chance to be a swing and miss offering T2702, 2661 average rpm.
SL: 82-82 mph. SL was similar to CB in shape with a little more horizontal break T,  average rpm.

2. Jacob Hungerford, Converse (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 5-11, 175-pounds.
Delivery: Pitched exclusively from the stretch on the 1B side of rubber, comes set with body turned inward, hides the ball well, strides quick to the plate and finishes off to 1B side some
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick arm action, releases from a sidearm to near submarine release from underneath
FB: T81.6, 79-81 mph. Low spin FB with arm side sink and run from low slot T1995, 1887 average rpm.
CB:  mph.  T,  average rpm.
SL: 72-73 mph. Sweeping SL with good and late horizontal break down in the zone T2208, 2019 average rpm.

3. Tyler Corzine, Notre Dame  (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-2, 165-pounds.
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there throughout a controlled and repeatable delivery finishing square to home plate.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, releases from a true 3/4 slot
FB: T85.9, 83-85 mph. FB had good spin up to 2407 RPM, was able to keep FB down in the zone especially to his glove side T2407, 2335 average rpm.
CB: 69-72 mph. "10-4" with good shape and above average break with some depth T2210, 2020 average rpm.

4. Braxton Demopulos, Live Oak (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-4, 205-pounds.
Delivery: Pitched exclusively out of the stretch on the 1B side of rubber.  High and controlled leg kick, finishes off slightly to 1B side.
Arm Action: RH. Brings ball down, back, and up with an average arm circle, releases from a high 3/4 slot.
FB: T88.3, 80-85 mph. 4 Seam FB stays true through the zone, varying velocities on FB, really good life when he got after it T1978, 1822 average rpm.
CB: 66-67 mph. "11-5" with average shape, break, and depth.  Still a developing secondary offering. T2059, 2014 average rpm.
CH: 78 mph. Firm CH with sink T1694, 1694 average rpm.

5. Landon Hennen, Choudrant (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: 2B/RHP
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout a quicker delivery, turns shoulders inwards which creates some deception, sinks into back hip after hands break
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, 3/4-low 3/4 slot
FB: T84.7, 84-85 mph. Heavier FB with arm side sink and run, kept FB down in the zone T1985, 1888 average rpm.
CB:  mph.  T,  average rpm.
SL: 68-70 mph. SL showed good sweeping shape working down and away to RHH T1975, 1886 average rpm.
CH: 75 mph. CH had late fade and some sink T1612, 1612 average rpm.

Ryan Esquivel, Bridge City  (TX), 2023
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-1, 175-pounds. Athletic
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there throughout an athletic and smooth delivery.  Finishes on-line with hips and shoulders square to target.
Arm Action: LH. Loose arm action with some whip.  Releases from a 3/4-low 3/4 slot depending on pitch.
FB: T78.6, 75-78 mph. Stays true in the zone with some arm side run T2066, 1661 average rpm.
CB: 64-67 mph. "2-8", average shape, get me over offering T2092, 1929 average rpm.

Tripp Fleming, Ouachita Parish (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-0, 150-pounds. Athletic and lean with room to add strength
Delivery: Pitched exclusively out of the stretch on the 3B side of rubber, striding across his body slightly and finishing with hips and shoulders square to home plate
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, releases from a 3/4 to low 3/4 slot
FB: T73.3, 70-73 mph. Average life through the zone with some run at times T1789, 1670 average rpm.
CB: 59-62 mph. "11-5" with average shape, some bite down in the zone away from RHH T1699, 1687 average rpm.

Jackson Frazier, St. Augustine (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-1, 150-pounds. Athletic and lean
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and stays there throughout a very slow and controlled delivery. 
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action, releases from a high 3/4 slot
FB: T80.8, 79-81 mph. FB has some life through the zone and shows some sink and run to arm side T2146, 2080 average rpm.
CB: 63-69 mph. "10-4" in shape with some sweep T1744, 1733 average rpm.

Evan Fruge, Eunice (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-0, 165-pounds. Athletic and wiry
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and stays there throughout an up-tempo and athletic delivery finishing square to home plate.
Arm Action: RH. Long and loose arm action, release from an over the top slot
FB: T82.9, 79-82 mph. FB had good life, but control was erratic T2036, 1932 average rpm.
CB: 70-71 mph. "12-6" in shape, top to bottom break, erratic control T1903, 1853 average rpm.

Braylon Guerin, Liberty Magnet (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/2B
Body: 5-9, 155-pounds.
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and works to the 1B side throughout an athletic, up-tempo delivery
Arm Action: RH. Short and quick arm action, low 3/4 slot
FB: T77.1, 75-76 mph. FB showed arm side run with some sink T2203, 2054 average rpm.
CB: 72-72 mph. "11-5" with average shape, and slightly above average depth and break T2350, 2350 average rpm.

Jhyren King, Kinder (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-4, 200-pounds. Tall, lean, and projectable with tons of room to add strength
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout an up-tempo and athletic delivery with a big leg swing, finishes off to the 1B side
Arm Action: LH. Brings ball down out of glove with a slight stab, loose arm with some whip, releases from a 3/4-high 3/4 slot
FB: T80.8, 72-79 mph. Low spin, heavier FB with some sink and run T1804, 1512 average rpm.
CB: 61-65 mph. CB popped up out of hand at times, "11-5" with average shape, break, and depth.  Still developing T1740, 1687 average rpm.
CH: 71 mph. CH stayed straight, was able to keep same arm stroke T1541, 1275 average rpm.

Hudson Manuel, Eunice (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-3, 230-pounds. Physical
Delivery: Starts in the middle of the rubber and stays there throughout a deliberate and repeatable delivery
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, releases from a high 3/4-over the top slot
FB: T80.9, 78-81 mph. Above average spin and life on 4S FB with some downward tilt T2318, 2257 average rpm.
CB: 68-69 mph. Big "12-6" shape with top to bottom break down in the zone T2001, 1942 average rpm.

Casey Messina, Parkview Baptist  (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 185-pounds. Tall and athletic
Delivery: Starts in middle of rubber and works to 1B side throughout a controlled and repeatable delivery finishing square to his target.  Strides across his body some at times.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, releases from a 3/4-high 3/4 slot
FB: T78.2, 77-78 mph. FB had some cut to it at times with average life through the zone T1882, 1804 average rpm.
CB: 70-71 mph. Shaped more like a SL with average shape and depth T2034, 1982 average rpm.

Chase Taylor, Simpson (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/SS
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds.
Delivery: Pitched exclusively out of the stretch on the 1B side, high leg lift, turns slightly inward, finishes with hips and shoulders square to target.
Arm Action: RH. Shorter arm action, high 3/4 release
FB: T79.3, 77-79 mph. Good downward tilt on FB with some arm side sink T2051, 1875 average rpm.
CB: 68-68 mph. Near "12-6" with good shape and some late break and bite down in the zone T1767, 1767 average rpm.
SL: 70-72 mph. Sweeping shape to the SL with some depth T1781, 1744 average rpm.
CH: 71 mph. Kept same arm stroke, CH had some run T1648, 1648 average rpm.

Ian Trahan, Hammond High Magnet (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-2, 195-pounds. Physical and athletic
Delivery: Starts on 1B side and stays there throughout an athletic and repeatable delivery finishing square to his target.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, brings the ball out of the glove to his ear, releases from a 3/4 slot
FB: T82.6, 74-80 mph. FB had run and some sink at times T1979, 1869 average rpm.
CB: 65-67 mph. "11-5" with average shape and above average depth T2042, 2007 average rpm.
