The annual PBR Future Games kicked off on Wednesday at Grand Park in Westfield, IN. The top uncommitted underclass prospects in the Prep Baseball Report coverage area took part in a pro-style workout with over 200 college coaches on-hand.

As the week unfolds, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana will have comprehensive coverage of the dozen or so Louisiana prospects in attendance. For now, we will start with a few quick nuggets of Wednesday’s performances.

+ The catchers were the last position group to go on the day, and 2019 C Alex Milazzo (Zachary HS, LA) was first up. Milazzo set the bar high, showing elite-level catch and throw skills. Arguably the best defensive backstop in attendance, Milazzo showed quick, clean transfers and plus arm strength with carry on throws, posting an event best 82 mph positional velocity and a 1.86-second pop time. Additionally, the right-handed hitter had a quality round of batting practice showing a line-drive approach and bat speed, posting a 90 mph exit velocity.

+ 2019 C Clint Hargrave (Ouachita Christian HS, LA) was also impressive defensively for the Louisiana/Arkansas team. An athletic 6-foot, 170-pound frame, Hargrave showed feel for the position with clean transfers into high-3/4 release with solid arm strength, working downhill on throws, posting a 76 mph positional velocity and a 2.01-second pop time. Additionally, the right-handed hitter showed fluid rhythm with quality bat speed, posting an 89 mph exit velocity.

+ 2019 OF/RHP Damon Fountain (St. Louis HS, LA) certainly passes the eye test with his long, athletic 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame. A gifted athlete, Fountain posted a 6.75 laser-timed 60-yard dash, and showed fluid actions defensively in the outfield. A legitimate two-way prospect, Fountain will be featured on the mound later this week, but he showed off a long, loose arm action with plus carry on throws from the outfield on Wednesday, posting a 90 mph positional velocity. The right-handed hitter showed loose, fluid rhythm during batting practice, flashing power potential at time, and bat speed that produced a 97 mph exit velocity.

+ A late addition to the event, 2019 OF/RHP Jace Pendarvis (Central Private HS, LA) continues to trend upward, having himself a big day on Wednesday. The athletic 6-foot outfielder posted a 6.94 laser-timed 60-yard dash, and showed off a plus throwing arm with quick arm speed and carry on throws, posting a 90 mph positional velocity. Pendarvis also put together a quality round of batting practice, showing a simple, direct path with a line-drive approach and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 87 mph.

+ 2020 OF Matthew Bihm (Centreville HS, LA) is on the Select team for the weekend, but highly ranked rising sophomore was one of the top left-handed hitters of the day. Bihm put together a loud round of batting practice, consistently finding the barrel with a line-drive approach, electric, whippy bat speed, showing off present power to the pull side, and posted a 97 mph exit velocity. A strong, developed 5-foot-11, 183-pound frame, Bihm posted a 6.92 laser-timed 60-yard dash, and showed fluid, athletic actions defensively with advanced arm strength and carry on throws from the outfield, posting a positional velocity of 86 mph.

+ 2020 SS Davis Meche (Barbe HS, LA) has been on the radar for a while now, but the rising Sophomore looks to becoming into his own now, seemingly adding strength every time out. Meche showed fluid footwork, and quality actions during his defensive evaluation, as well as showing much improved arm strength with carry on throws, posting an 84 mph positional velocity. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter showed off a quiet, simple approach spraying line-drives from gap-to-gap with bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 87 mph.

+2019 SS/OF Cameron Pradia (St. Louis HS, LA) is a versatile defender that will see action at multiple positions this weekend, but worked out with the middle infielders on Wednesday. A quality athlete that posted a 6.86 laser-timed 60-yard dash, he showed athletic actions and range in the middle. A short arm action into high-3/4 release, Pradia showed quality arm strength with carry on throws across the diamond with a positional velocity of 84 mph. Offensively, Pradia showed fluid rhythm with loose hands and present bat speed from the left-side, posting an exit velocity of 91 mph, as well as flashing ability to create easy backspin to his pull side.

+ 2019 SS Collier Cranford (Zachary HS, LA) is a steady defender in the middle infield, and that certainly was evident on Wednesday. The athletic 6-foot, 162-pound infielder started his day off by posting a 6.84 laser-timed 60-yard dash. Defensively, he continued to show advanced feel for the position with soft hands, fluid footwork, and actions. As well, Cranford showed quality arm strength with easy carry on throws across the diamond, posting an 86 mph positional velocity. Offensively, the right-handed hitter put together a quality round of batting practice, consistently finding the barrel with a line-drive approach, and simple, compact stroke.

+ 2020 1B Tre’ Morgan (Brother Martin HS, LA) was a favorite of many in attendance on Wednesday, as the highly touted left-handed hitter continued to show an advanced feel to hit. Although his round started sluggishly, the left-handed hitter settled in quickly, showing quality bat speed with a simple, flat path that creates easy, natural lift. An athletic 6-foot, 180-pound frame with long limbs, Morgan flashed power to his pull side during his round, and posted a 92 mph exit velocity. Defensively, Morgan is an athletic first baseman with soft hands, and clear, advanced defending ability at the position, as well as quality arm strength, as he posted a 81 mph positional velocity.

+ 2019 3B Peyton Lejeune (Teurlings Catholic HS, LA) was one of my favorite offensive performers from the Louisiana group on Wednesday, as the switch hitter put together two quality rounds of batting practice. A simple, line-drive approach from both sides, Lejeune uses the middle of the field that shows an advanced feel to hit. A strong 6-foot, 175-pound frame, Lejeune flashed power with ability to create backspin to the pull side, and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 89 mph from the right side, and 87 from the left side. Although he will most likely play in the middle during the upcoming high school seasons, Lejeune will be playing the hot corner this week, and shows to already be a quality defender at the position. He showed fluid footwork, soft hands, and actions with the feet and hands working well together during the defensive portion of event. Additionally, Lejeune showed arm strength with quality carry on throws across and a positional velocity of 82 mph.

+ 2020 3B/RHP Cade Hart (Calvary Baptist HS, LA) is another legitimate two-way prospect that will see the mound later this week. However, the young Hart worked out with the corner infielders during Wednesday’s workout showing off athletic actions with soft hands, and fluid footwork. Hart showed quick, clean transfers with short arm action into high-3/4 release with quality arm strength and carry on throws, producing an 83 mph positional velocity. Offensively, the right-handed hitter put together a quality round of batting practice, spraying line-drives from gap-to-gap. Hart hits from a crouch with a strong lower half and generates solid bat speed, posting an 80 mph exit velocity.
