Player of the Week

 

Thomas Collins SS / RHP / Erath, LA / 2024 Erath collected two big district wins against Crowley last week, to move into first place in the district, with two games remaining.  Sophomore Thomas Collins was a big part of the Bobcats success last week, as he had a stellar week at the plate.  He finished the week with seven hits in eleven at-bats (.636 AVG) that included two doubles and four runs batted in.  Collins also did not record a strikeout in his eleven at-bats.

Hunter Lail RHP / 3B / Lafayette Christian, LA / 2022 Rankings  StateRank: 131 / POS: 29 The National Park College commit turned in a really good performance for Lafayette Christian last week on the mound.  Lail took a no-hitter into the 7th inning and earned the win in a complete game effort.  He ended up giving up one earned run on five hits, while striking out five.

 

 

Seth Leger 3B / RHP / Erath, LA / 2025 The freshman right-hander has been stellar on the mound for the Bobcats all spring and his outing last week was no different.  In what ended up being a five inning game, due to a run-rule, Leger pitched all five innings, while giving up zero earned runs and zero walks, to go along with eight strikeouts.

 

 

Dylan Marionneaux RHP / Zachary, LA / 2023 Marionneaux took the ball for the Broncos in a big district matchup against Central BR HS and turned in a masterful performance, which led to a Zachary win.  He tossed a complete game, giving up only one earned run on five hits and logged seven strikeouts.  The right-hander only needed 84 pitches to throw the complete game and faced only 27 batters, while only allowing two Central Wildcats to reach third base all day.

 

 

Zach Juneau / Central BR, LA / 2022 The Wildcats endured a tough district loss to Zachary HS in their first matchup last week and were on the cusp of losing again to the Broncos, but Juneau came through in a big way for the Wildcats in Game 2 on Saturday.  In the bottom of the 7th, he hit a solo homerun to send the game into extra innings, and then hit a walk-off grand slam, with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning, to seal a 9-5 win for the Wildcats.  Juneau finished the week going 4-14 at the plate with two homeruns.
