ArkLaTex Open: Infield Analysis

At the end of June, the first annual ArkLaTex Open was held at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. Today, we look at a more in-depth analysis from the infielders in attendance at the event.
Infielders (Listed Alphabetically)
+ Austin Acree, 3B, Claiborne Christian HS (LA), 2019
Thick 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame. Right-handed hitter hits from tall, open, athletic setup, with smooth leg lift load, and loose rhythm, diving on front side. Long, slight uphill swing path, with pull approach, early rhythm, and solid bat speed while leaving hips behind; produced exit velocity of 86 mph. Defensively, he showed average hands with clean exchanges, and developing footwork. Long arm action into high-3/4 release with solid accuracy on throws across, producing a positional velocity of 72 mph. Also posted an 8.43 60-yard dash.
+ Ethan Alston, 2B, St. Thomas Aquinas HS (LA), 2021
Athletic 5-foot-9, 154-pound frame. Showed athleticism running a 7.01 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter hits from tall, athletic setup, mechanically quiet with short stride. Line-drive type approach with short, slight up-hill path, fluid rhythm and solid bat speed; produced exit velocity of 81 mph. Infielder with soft hands, good footwork and quick, clean exchanges while working through ball athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws and developing arm strength, produced an infield positional velocity of 75 mph.
+ Kyle Duke, 2B, North Desoto HS (LA), 2018
Long 5-foot-10, 140-pound frame. Infielder with soft hands and active feet, making clean exchanges while playing through ball athletically. Long arm action into high-3/4 release with carry on throws and developing accuracy, produced a positional velocity of 73 mph. Right-handed hitter hits from balanced, athletic setup, works backwards in load with leg lift, and solid balance. Pull approach with long stroke and developing rhythm; produced exit velocity of 81 mph. Showed some athleticism running a 7.25 60-yard dash.
+ Dale Fulmer, 1B, Ouachita Christian HS (LA), 2019
Long 6-foot-3, 215-pound frame, strong build. Right-handed hitter hits from tall, athletic setup, working backwards with toe tap, long stride and slight bat wrap. Fluid rhythm, level swing path, with line drive type approach, and physical strength in swing; produced exit velocity of 90 mph. First baseman with soft hand, decent footwork and clean exchanges. Long high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry and throws, recorded a positional velocity of 75 mph. Ran a 7.79 60-yard dash.
+ Davis Johnson, 2B, Sterlington HS (LA), 2019
Long, lanky 6-foot-1, 145-pound frame. Right-handed hitter hits from tall, athletic setup, with subtle leg lift, short stride, solid balance and slight bat wrap. Line-drive type approach with slight up-hill path and developing rhythm; produced exit velocity of 79 mph. Infielder with active feet, clean exchanges while fielding ball deep. Short arm action into ¾ release with accuracy producing a positional velocity of 73 mph. Also posted a 7.41 60-yard dash time.

Athletic 6-foot, 175-pound frame. Right-handed hitter hits from tall, open, athletic setup, working backwards with leg lift, and loose rhythm landing balanced. Pull type approach with level swing path, early rhythm, and developing bat speed; produced exit velocity of 78 mph. Infielder with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges while playing through balls athletically. Long arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws, produced a positional velocity of 80 mph. Also posted a 7.19 60-yard dash.

Long and lanky 5-foot-10, 150-pound frame. Right-handed hitter hitting from tall, athletic setup with looseness in hands. Smooth subtle leg lift load, with short stride landing balanced. Fluid rhythm with gap-to-gap approach and long, slight uphill path and developing bat speed producing an exit velocity of 79 mph. Infielder with soft hands, static feet and clean exchanges while fielding balls on heels, sitting back. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws and developing arm strength, produced a positional velocity of 75 mph. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash.

Average 5-foot-9, 145-pound frame. Showed athleticism running a 7.11 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter hitting from open, athletic setup with high hands. Smooth load, with short stride landing slightly open. Short, slight uphill path and developing bat speed producing an exit velocity of 78 mph. Infielder with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges while in athletic fielding position. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws, produced a positional velocity of 77 mph.

Athletic 6-foot-2, 195-pound frame. Right-handed hitter hits from tall, athletic setup, working backwards with subtle leg lift, loose rhythm and slight arm bar. Fluid rhythm with, level swing path, with pull approach, physical strength and solid bat speed; produced exit velocity of 87 mph. First baseman with soft hand, developing footwork and clean exchanges. Long ¾ release with accuracy and carry and throws, recorded a positional velocity of 78 mph. Ran an 8.31 60-yard dash
+ Cameron Williamson, SS, Downsville Charter HS (LA), 2019
Average 5-foot-8, 155-pound frame. Right-handed hitter hits from tall, athletic setup, working backwards in load with loose rhythm. Level swing with rotational path, and developing rhythm and bat speed; produced exit velocity of 79 mph. Infielder with soft hands, developing footwork, clean exchanges while in athletic fielding position. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with stiffness in arm action and developing arm strength, produced a positional velocity of 71 mph. Also posted 7.59 60-yard dash time.
