2024 Future Games: Quick Hits (Game 2)
July 27, 2024
Emerson, GA- The 2024 Future Games continued yesterday for Louisiana with Game 2 against Mississippi. The offense took a little while to get going yesterday, and heading into the 6th inning, the Bayou State was trailing 3-0. After scratching a couple of runs across in the 6th and the 7th, Louisiana tied the game at 3-3, heading into the bottom of the 8th inning. Louisiana capped off the come-from-behind win in that last inning, after Kross Gillen got hit by a pitch with the two outs and the bases loaded to seal the 4-3 win. Below, we take a look at some of the top performances from yesterday's second game. Be sure to follow us, across all of our social media platforms, as the Future Games concludes today with Game 3 against Alabama. Both Louisiana and Alabama are 2-0 on the week.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS (GAME 2 VS. MISSISSIPPI)
+ 2026 UTIL Myles Ledoux (Barbe HS)
Heading into this week, we though that Ledoux would take some of the best at-bats on the team, and that's certainly been the case through the first two games. The Barbe product finished yesterday 2-4 with three QAB's and his last at-bat proved to be the highlight of the game. Ledoux hit an opposite field single and after getting to first base, he fake stole, which caused Mississippi's catcher to try to throw behind him and sailed the throw into RF, which allowed Ledoux to advance to second base. A couple of pitches later, with 0 outs, Ledoux got a heck of a jump and easily stole third base, and came in to score the game-winning run, after Kross Gillen drew a bases-loaded HBP. The will to win and killer instinct on the biggest stage that Ledoux displayed in that last inning yesterday was something special and fun to watch.
Surprise, surprise…

2026 Myles Ledoux (Barbe HS) comes through in the biggest spot. Hits this opposite-field single in the ⬇️ 8th with the game tied at 3-3. Fake steals at 1st base, causes overthrow and advances to 2nd. Steals 3rd a couple pitches later & scores the… pic.twitter.com/5ODTf8gkVt
+ 2026 RHP Logan Sorrel (Parkview Baptist HS)
Physical and durable 6'3" 195 lbs. frame with some projection still left. The Parkview Baptist product got the start in yesterday's Game 2 against Mississippi and turned in a quality outing. Sorrel is a good athlete and uses a long & loose arm action to release the ball from a high 3/4 slot with little effort. His FB got up to 92 mph and sat mostly 87-90 with some slight cutting action at times. He went to his 75-78 mph SL early and often, and showed the ability to land it for strikes and swing & miss, while also showing feel for a firmer low-80's CH with arm-side sink. Sorrel finished his two inning start giving up only 1 ER with 1 BB and 3 K's.

+ 2026 INF Aubrey St. Angelo (Brusly HS)
The Brusly product has swung the bat extremely well this week and has shown the ability to drive the ball to all fields. St. Angelo finished yesterday going 2-4 at the plate with a SB. His two hits were both singles, one to the pull-side that registered 93 mph off the bat, and the other was a firm line drive single to RCF. Heading into the final day, St. Angelo is currently 3-6 at the plate with a 2B and 2 RBI's, and will close today's Game 3 vs. Alabama.

+ 2026 RHP Mills Richardson (Catholic BR HS)
6'1" 160 lbs. lean and athletic frame with a ton of room to add strength. Richardson worked at a quick pace and filled the strike zone up throughout his two inning relief stint. The Catholic BR product is an athletic mover down the slope with a quick and clean arm action. His FB sat in the 83-87 mph range and he was able to command the pitch to both sides of the plate. He also showed feel to land a low-70's CB, as well as a mid-70's CH with really good late fade. Richardson gave up 1 ER with 3 K's and 0 BB's to cap off a solid Future Games outing.

+ 2026 OF Kross Gillen (Opelousas Catholic HS)
Physical and athletic 6'2" 185 lbs. frame. The Opelousas Catholic product picked up his first Future Games hit yesterday and it ended up being a crucial one for the Boot Boys. In his third at-bat, Gillen hit a two-strike RBI triple to RCF, which tied the game at 3-3 in the 6th inning. He also had the game-winning RBI by drawing a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to seal Louisiana's 4-3 come-from-behind win over Mississippi. Gillen will get to show his upside on the mound today against Alabama, as he'll throw the 5th and 6th innings.

Comes through with the biggest knock of the game with this 2K, 2 RBI triple to RCF to tie the game at 3-3 here in the 6th. #BeSeen #PBFG24@AlexArmandPBR pic.twitter.com/yBUgGKikjN
+ 2026 RHP Christian Sauska (Newman HS)
6'2" 185 lbs. frame with broad shoulders and a strong lower-half. Sauska tossed the 5th and 6th innings of yesterday's Game 2 against Mississippi and did a heck of a job of "holding the line" for Louisiana. The Newman product is an easy mover down the mound with a compact arm stroke and releases the ball from a near over-the-top slot. His 84-88 mph FB played best to the glove-side and up in the zone and he showed really good feel for a mid-70's CH to both RHH's and LHH's. Add in a solid low-70's "11-5" shaped CB and an upper-70's SL with short lateral break, gives Sauska a true four-pitch mix with starter upside.

+ 2026 RHP Cole Guidroz (Central BR HS)
Yestreday was Guidroz's version of Michael Jordan's "Flu Game", as he showed up to the park yesterday feeling under the weather, and was nails when he entered to close the game in the 7th and 8th innings. The Central BR product pounded the zone with his 85-89 mph FB and tunneled a low-mid 70's sweeper extremely well off of it with up to 20" of horizontal break. Guidroz gave up only 1 H and 0 ER with 1 BB and 2 K's earning the win in yesterday's 4-3 win over Mississippi. He also went 1-2 at the plate with a pull-side single and three QAB's.
