The Early Signing Period closed on Wednesday, making many verbal commitments official with players signing their National Letter of Intent. Below are the programs with the most recruits in the top 100 of Prep Baseball Report’s Overall Rankings.

LOUISVILLE (10): The Cardinals sat atop this exercise a year ago and it’s no surprise they’re there again, but there is one notable change. Chris Lemonis left his post as recruiting coordinator for Louisville this summer to become the head coach at Indiana. His fingerprints are on this class, but you can expect Eric Snider to keep the Cardinals recruiting at a high level. Louisville’s recruiting class leans heavily toward pitching with the top five being arms. The group is led by RHP Bryan Hoeing (Batesville HS, IN), who landed in the National Top 50 and provides excellent athleticism and projection. RHP Noah Burkholder (Crown Point HS, IN) is similar. He didn’t pitch much in 2014 due to a nagging back injury, but should gain plenty of attention from scouts in the spring. RHPs Riley Thompson (Christian Academy, KY) and Sam Bordner (Bloom-Carroll HS, OH) both offer size as well to go with a fastball that has reached the low 90s and projectable secondary stuff. LHP Adam Wolf (Edison HS, OH) took a step forward in the summer and was at the center of recruiting news as one of the best players still available until Louisville scooped him up in September.
