The PBR Kentucky Underclass Games was held at Madison Central HS and Eastern Kentucky University on August 24 and 25. The talent on Team Gold did not disappoint as several players showed well.
A few performances to note:
Brandon Calia (2015 RHP, Lafayette HS), showed a fastball that touched 83 mph, but what was more impressive was his confidence in his secondary stuff that included a 66-70 mph curveball and one of the best changeups of the day which he would throw on any count.
Aaron McGeorge (2015 RHP/SS, Henry Clay HS) impressed on the mound with a fastball that topped at 81 mph (have seen up to 83 at previous event). McGeorge throws from a 3/4 slot that produces significant run on his fastball and compliments that with solid secondary pitches. He also shows good infield actions and arm strength.
Jacob Lewis (2015 C, South Warren HS) proved to be a solid catching prospect with good skills behind the plate and the top pop time of the event at 1.96 with 75 mph arm strength from the crouch.
Spencer Hackworth (2015 3B, Bishop Brossart HS) showed an increase in every measurable and shows good strength and bat speed at the plate.
The following is a complete look at Team Gold from the event.
