middle infielders

Kase Mattingly, SS, R/R, Meade County HS, 2016
Mattingly is a 6-foot, 170-pound prospect who hits from a balanced setup with a tope tap and no stride.  He has a direct path to the baseball and flashed bat speed with an 88 mph tee exit velocity.  Mattingly had a good day at the plate in game action and showed the ability to make hard contact to all fields in going 3-for-4 with single up the middle, a double to left, and a double to right.  He is an aggressive base runner who ran a 4.45 down the first base line.  He showcased soft hands and athletic feet defensively with a quick exchange and 73 mph arm strength across the infield that will need to continue to improve to stay on the left side of the infield at the next level.

Brandon Blaser, SS, R/R, St. Xavier HS, 2015
Blaser is a 5-fot-11, 170-pound prospect who hits from an open stance with a short stride, and while he gets close to arm bar in his load, he showed quick hands in his batting practice round that consistently got the barrel through the zone with good bat speed.  He registered an 87 mph tee exit velocity, ran a 4.52 down the first base line, and went 0-for-4 in game play, reaching base once on error.  He showcased soft hands defensively with very good lateral movement in both directions with 79 mph arm strength across the infield and the ability to throw from multiple arm angles.

Nick Jackson, 2B, R/R, Ballard HS, 2015
Jackson is a 5-foot-8, 150-pound prospect who shows very good defensive actions with fluid footwork and good body control.  His hands are soft and he gets rid of the ball with a quick exchange and short arm action with 70 mph velocity across the infield.  Jackson showed the ability to use all fields, hitting from a balanced setup with a toe tap and short stride.  He shows good balance in his swing and showed an improvement in tee exit velocity from previous event at 80 mph while going 1-for-4 in game play with a SAC fly.  Jackson ran a 4.78 down the first base line.

Nick Nelson, 2B, R/R, St. Xavier HS, 2016
Nelson is a 5-foot-10, 140-pound prospect who displayed solid footwork and the ability to throw accurately from different arm angles with a quick exchange.  He showed developing arm strength at 68 mph across the infield that will need to improve moving forward.  At the plate he showed some hand quickness and a line drive swing that produced a 78 mph tee exit velocity and has the potential to improve bat speed with more consistent involvement from his lower half.  He showed the ability to make consistent contact to all fields in going 1-for-5 in game play with a single to right-center.  Nelson ran a 4.82 down the first base line on his last swing of batting practice.

corner infielders

Trenton Saylor, 3B, R/R, DeSales HS, 2015
Saylor is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect who had one of the best rounds of batting practice over the two day event and continued that in game play.  The rising senior hits from a balanced stance with a short stride and gets to extension well with some gap power.  He followed up the impressive round of batting practice by squaring up everything in game play by going 3-for-4 with three hard singles.  Saylor ran 4.75 down the first base line. He showed capable hands defensively and 71 mph arm strength across the infield which may lead to a move to first base at the next level.

Nick Eubanks, 3B/RHP, L/R, Eastern HS, 2016
Eubanks is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect who hits from a wide base with minimal stride and gets good lower half torque in his swing.  He registered an 84 mph tee exit velocity and has power potential from the left side.  Eubanks went 0-for-4 in game play, reaching base on an error once and ran 4.57 down the first base line.  Defensively, he showed solid corner actions with capable hands and 79 mph arm strength across the infield with accurate throws.  Eubanks is a 2016 player to keep an eye on.

Drew Glass, RHP/1B, R/R, Pleasure Ridge Park HS, 2015
Glass is a 6-foot-5, 220-pound prospect who hits from a tall stance with a short stride.  He wraps some in his load which creates some length to his swing but gets to extension well with an uphill path to the baseball that creates some lift.  He showed some power in his round of batting practice to the pull side.  Glass registered 83 mph tee exit velocity and ran 4.90 down the first base line.  He went 0-for-4 in game play showing a mid-to opposite field approach.  Defensively, he shows average hands while throwing 78 mph across the infield.

Austin Jones, 1B, R/R, Graves County HS, 2015
Jones is a 6-foot-1, 205-pound prospect who hits from a balanced stance with a longer stride.  He stays quiet in his pre-pitch approach and showed good barrel awareness with the ability to make hard contact the other way in his round of batting practice.  Jones registered an 84 mph exit velocity off the tee and ran 5.02 down the first base line.  He went 0-for-4 in game play with two strikeouts.  Defensively, he showed average hands with decent feet around the bag while throwing 74 mph across the infield.

outfielders

Ben Morin, OF, R/R, Madison Central HS, 2015
Morin is a 6-foot, 175-pound prospect who showcased good speed in running 4.28 down the first base line.  He hits from an open stance and squares his front side with a short stride.   He displays a short path to the ball that produces line drives and has quick hands on the inner half of the plate.  Morin registered 82 mph tee exit velocity and went 1-for-4 in game play with a single to right-center and a stolen base.  His feet are quick and athletic and he plays through the baseball well showing 82 mph arm strength with some carry through an over the top arm slot.

Jay Poullard, OF, R/R, Ballard HS, 2015
Poullard is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound prospect displayed quick hands in a solid round of batting practice from a balanced stance.  He is a line drive type hitter with some gap power and showed a jump in tee exit velocity at 87 mph while running a 4.45 down the first base line (4.38 at previous event).  Poullard went 1-for-4 in game play with a double down the left field line.  He showed a big increase in arm strength at 84 mph and plays through the ball well with quick and athletic feet and good routes to the baseball.

Phillip Archer, LHP/OF, L/L, Floyd Central HS (IN), 2016
Archer is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect with an athletic frame who hits from an open stance and squares his front side with a short stride.  Archer generates good bat speed as evidenced by his 88 mph tee exit velocity and ran 4.66 down the first base line.  He shows gap to gap power with loose hands that create some barrel whip through the zone.  He went 2-for-4 with two doubles and lined out hard to center field in another at bat.  He showcased an 82 mph arm from the outfield with online carry from an over the top arm slot and showed the ability to cover ground in game play with a nice catch in foul territory down the right field line. 

Adam Elliott, OF/LHP, L/L, St, Xavier HS, 2016
Elliott is a 6-foot-, 165-pound prospect who showcased an 86 mph tee exit velocity hitting from a slightly open stance with a short stride.  He is a line drive type hitter who showed the ability to use all fields in going 2-for-4 in game play with a single to left and a single to right-center.  Also showed the ability to use his speed with a stolen base and ran 4.33 down the first base line.  Elliott showed some arm strength from the outfield at 84 mph from a high ¾ slot while playing through the baseball and showed he is a 2016 prospect to follow.

Zach Reddington, OF/RHP, DeSales HS, 2015
Reddington is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect who improved every measurable since last summer.  Hitting from a slightly open setup and using a short stride he showed improved use of lower half torque with a short path to the ball that allowed him to consistently square the baseball in his round of batting practice with some pull-side power.  Reddington registered a tee exit velocity of 86 mph and showed improved speed running 4.71 down the first base line.  He went 1-for-4 in game play with a single up the middle.  He showed a big jump in arm strength at 88 mph with good carry and very accurate throws on the third base bag while showing a two-handed approach to the ball on the ground.

John Millay, OF/RHP, R/R, Meade County HS, 2016
Millay is a 6-foot-1, 165-pound prospect who hits from a square setup with a wide base and no stride.  He has a level swing path and is a line drive type hitter producing a tee exit velocity of 78 mph.  Millay ran a 4.53 down the first base line and went 2-for-4 in game play with an infield single and a double to left field.  He shows athletic actions in the outfield taking good angles to the baseball and playing through it well.  He showed good arm strength at 86 mph with carry and showed himself to be a 2016 OF prospect to keep a close eye on.

catchers

Vincent Boils, C, R/R, Southwestern HS, 2016
5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect with a strong frame showed very good receiving and blocking skills behind the plate, has a quick glove to hand exchange with solid footwork and showed a jump in arm strength at 76 mph from the crouch, accurate throws on the bag with pop times ranging from 2.01-2.10.  At the plate, he starts with a wide base with no stride, strong frame generates some bat speed through the zone, shows some gap-to-gap power, showed improved speed running 4.66 down the first base line, went 2-for-4 in game play with a single to left and a single to right, very solid 2016 catcher.

Dalton Dedas, C, R/R, St. Xavier HS, 2016
Dedas is a 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect with a strong frame who showed a big improvement in his catch and throw skills from previous event last summer.  He showcased solid receiving and blocking skills with 71 mph arm strength from the crouch and pop times ranging from 1.99-2.09 on accurate throws to the bag.  He shows quick feet and a solid exchange and release.  Dedas showed good bat speed registering 88 mph exit velocity off the tee and uses an open stance with a short stride.  He shows good balance in his swing and went 1-for-4 in game play with a single to left field.
