The Class of 2015 Overall Rankings were recently updated, which means the 2016 class is next on the docket. That update will likely come next week, so here’s a little teaser. Listed alphabetically below are 2016 prospects that improved recently and should make a jump in the next ranking.
Aaron Ashby, LHP, Park Hill HS, MO
Ashby, a 6-foot, 175-pound southpaw, has shown a considerable increase in both size and velocity. At the Winter ID Showcase on Feb. 21, Ashby sat 82-84 mph with his fastball with slight run. He also threw a 1-to-7 curveball at 61-63 mph and a changeup at 66-69. Although he is still developing feel for his secondary pitches, Ashby has added three inches and 20 pounds over the last year to help boost his velocity. Ashby is the nephew of former major leaguer Andy Ashby.
