The following is an in-depth look at the pitchers from Team 10. Please note that this is pitcher analysis only. Those pitchers who also participated as a position player had that performance featured in a previous article.

Lucas Jones, RHP, Rockcastle County, 2017
Max FB: 83, FB: 80-83, CB: 68-71
6-foot-3, 205-pound RHP uses long arm action and works through a ¾ slot with minimal effort, occasionally can get more use from lower half, tended to work deep in counts, fastball shows some run and sink, showed a curveball that varied between 11/5 and 10/4 action that produced three swinging strikeouts, allowed two hits and two walks while finishing with four strikeouts in his two innings of work. Jones is an interesting prospect with good size and upside.

Brady Bowling, RHP, Lafayette, 2017
Max FB: 82, FB: 78-81, CB: 67-69, CH: 73-74
6-foot-3, 170-pound RHP with long/lanky frame the projects well, showed an uptick in velocity since previous event, long arm action works well through a high-3/4 slot, fastball has late sink at times, showed a solid curveball with 11/5 action and depth, flashed a few changeups thrown with good arm action, had some command issues early but settled in, allowed three hits, walked three, and struck out two (both on CB) in his two innings of work. Bowling has potential to add significant velocity with the combination of his arm action and frame.

Peyton Hood, C/RHP, Butler Traditional, 2017
Max FB: 83, FB: 80-83, CB: 64-68, CH: 73,
6-foot-1, 195-pound RHP uses long arm action through a high-3/4 slot with normal effort in delivery, arm is quick, uses effective late arm-side life to run fastball in on right-handed hitters, showed occasional feel for curveball with 11/5 action, worked through some command issues, allowed just one infield single, walked three, and struck out two (both swinging on FB) in his two innings of work. Quick arm could lead to more velocity.

Drew Demler, RHP, Ryle, 2017
Max FB: 81, FB: 80-81, CB: 64-69, CH: 76
6-foot-4, 215-pound RHP uses quicker arm action and an up tempo delivery, arm works through a ¾ slot with normal effort, pounds the strike zone with all pitches, fastball shows solid run and late sink, good feel for his curveball with 11/5 action, threw one very effective changeup with sink and fade that produced a swinging strikeout, allowed four hits (one bloop, one infield), no walks, and had the one strikeout in two innings. Demler’s sinking fastball produced consistent ground ball contact. He needs to be watched for additional velocity development.

Christopher Leicht, OF/LHP, Boone County, 2017
Max FB: 75, FB: 73-74, CB: 64-65
5-foot-11, 130-pound LHP uses long arm action and works through an over the top arm slot with some effort in delivery, works across body at times, showed ability to throw strikes consistently, fastball shows occasional run, shows solid feel for curveball with varying 1/7 and 12/6 action, allowed one hit and struck out one (looking CB) in his one inning of work.
