PBR Future Games: Team Kentucky Middle Infielders

The PBR Future Games will kick off tomorrow with a position player workout at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana. Team Kentucky position players will run 60’s, participate in defensive evaluations, and take batting practice on the field. Game play begins on Friday with Team Kentucky taking on Ohio at 4:00 PM and Indiana at 7:00 PM. The event will conclude on Sunday with a 4:00 PM game against Tennessee.

Middle Infielders
Thomas Bennett, SS, Western Hills HS, 2017
Scouting Report 6/17/15 - 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitter hits from a balanced stance, short stride, line drive type hitter, 87 mph exit velocity, ran 4.70 down the line, hit well in game play going 2-for-4 with singles to right and center. Shows soft hands, fluid footwork with good lateral movement, good body control with ability to throw accurately on the move, short ¾ to high-3/4 release, accurate throws, 83 mph velocity across the infield, has potential to be a high-level SS in 2017 class. Bennett made 1st Team All-Tournament at the PBR Kentucky 16U Invitational this past weekend at WKU going 5-for-11 with two doubles, a triple, and two RBI.
Blake Benz, 2B, North Bullitt HS, 2017
Scouting Report 6/16/15 - 6/16/15- 5-foot-9, 150-pounds, left-handed hitter hits from an open stance, squares up with a long stride, aggressive approach, line drive type hitter with occasional gap power, good bat speed, 87 mph exit velocity, ran 4.38 down the line, went 1-for-4 with a double to right-center in game play. Has soft hands, quick exchange, short ¾ release, good body control with athletic actions, 74 mph velocity across the infield.
Tanner Robins, SS/2B, Mercer County HS, 2017
Scouting Report 6/17/15 - 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitter hits from a tall stance with a leg kick trigger, has an uphill swing path which creates some lift, flashes pull-side power in BP, 86 mph exit velocity, runs well, 4.32 down the line, went 0-for-3 in game play. Shows soft hands with fluid footwork and good lateral movement, high-3/4 release with 85 mph velocity across the infield, accurate throws, good body control with ability to throw on the move from multiple arm angles.
