There are good weeks, and then there is what Highlands senior Joseph Martin did last week.

In six games, the St. Catharine College commit put up numbers that were straight out of a video game. In fact, since we began selecting a Player of the Week a few years ago, I don’t know if there have been more impressive offensive numbers put up by a player.

Martin went an astounding 17-for-22 in leading the Highlands offensive attack. His 17 hits included four doubles and four home runs to go along with 10 RBI. If it weren’t for hitting behind teammate Todd Ramey, who also hit four home runs during the week, Martin’s RBI numbers would have likely been off the chart.

For his performance on the field, Joseph Martin has been selected as the PBR Kentucky Player of the Week for April 27-May 2.
