Most of the time, our Pitcher of the Week selection is typically a guy who has racked up a lot of strikeouts in a dominant performance. But pitching is more than just about strikeouts, and you don’t have to punch out double digit hitters to have a dominant outing.

Franklin County junior Blake Redmon dropped down to a sidearm slot over the winter, and it has served him well this spring. In a start last Wednesday against Woodford County, the right-hander fired a complete-game, one-hit shutout in leading the Flyers to a 3-0 victory. Redmon walked one and struck out five in allowing just three Woodford County base runners, none of whom advanced beyond first base. He used his sinking fastball to record 11 ground ball outs in the impressive performance.

For his performance on the field, Blake Redmon has been selected as the PBR Kentucky Pitcher of the Week for March 30-April 4.
