There were many worthy nominations submitted for our Pitcher of the Week award this week, but in the end, one pitcher stood out as deserving of the honor.

Daviess County senior right-hander Zach Burton, a Kentucky Wesleyan signee, took the mound in the second game of a double-header on Saturday after the Panthers had suffered a loss in game one to Calloway County. The 6-foot-4 right-hander was lights out, racking up 12 strikeouts while firing a complete game, no-hitter in the 3-0 victory to salvage a split of the double-header.

For his performance on the field, Zach Burton has been selected as the PBR Kentucky Pitcher of the Week for March 23-28.
