KY Player Of The Week April 22-27
May 3, 2019
As he did in 2018, Rowan County senior RHP AJ Hacker has dominated the competition this spring. The Morehead State recruit has routinely seen his name among state leaders in strikeouts since his sophomore campaign.
Last week, Hacker logged two starts on the mound for the Vikings and delivered in typical fashion. He began the week taking the ball against Bath County in a district matchup on Monday, ended his week by taking the mound against perennial state power PRP on Saturday, and in between, helped the Rowan County offense score 37 runs during a week in which they went 5-0.
For the week, Hacker pitched 13.2 innings, allowing just 5 hits, 0 runs, and racked up a whopping 28 strikeouts. Offensively, he went 5-for-13 (.385) with a double, 2 walks, 1 HBP, 4 runs, and a RBI.
Hacker has a 0.98 ERA and has struck out 77 batters in 42.2 IP this season. He has also hit 6 home runs and driven in 32.
For his outstanding accomplishments on the field last week, AJ Hacker has been selected the PBR Kentucky Player of the Week for April 22-27.
