The following is a look at the Class of 2016 pitchers who participated in the event. This is pitching analysis only. Those pitchers who also participated as position player at the event had that performance featured in a separate article.

Erik Cecil, RHP, Trinity HS, 2016
6-foot-1, 223-pound RHP works through a ¾ arm slot with regular effort in delivery, arm action is long and loose, showed good velocity coming off Tommy John surgery, fastball sat 83-85 mph with good arm-side run, 66-68 mph curveball shows tight spin with slurvy action but has sharper action when he stays on top, showed a solid 69-73 mph changeup that mimics the action of his fastball. A week later at the Unsigned Senior Games event, Cecil was up to 88 mph and committed to Kentucky Wesleyan following the event.

Joshua Durbin, RHP/OF, Meade County HS, 2016
6-foot-2, 180-pound RHP with good pitcher’s frame, uses shorter and quick arm action through a high-3/4 slot, fastball sat 81-82 mph touching 84 on one occasion, two-seam fastball shows arm-side run, throws a solid 12/6 curveball with good depth at 67-71 mph, good arm action on 72-75 mph changeup that has good sink and fade, throws a 78-80 mph cutter that tends to back up, solid overall command of three pitches with good upside.

Aaron Miley, RHP, Lexington Christian Academy, 2016
6-foot-1, 190-pound RHP uses long arm action through a high-3/4 slot, easy delivery with good rhythm, fastball shows some arm-side run at 82-84 mph which represents an increase in velocity, 64-67 mph curveball displays 11/5 action, good feel for 73-74 mph changeup thrown consistently for strikes with good arm action, recent increase in velocity with more possibly to come.

Nate Beavers, RHP, Woodford County HS, 2016
6-foot-2,170-pound RHP with projectable frame, works through a 3/4 arm slot with shorter and quick arm action, regular effort in delivery, fastball has good arm-side run and sink and sat 80-81 mph touching 82 on one occasion, showed good feel for his 67-70 mph curveball with 11/5 action, 74-75 mph changeup is consistently down in the zone, likes to drop down some on 71-72 mph slider, with short/lateral break.

John Millay, OF/RHP, Meade County HS, 2016
6-foot-1,170-pound  RHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with regular effort, consistently throws strikes, fastball sat 77-78 mph but touched 83 on his last pitch of the day, mostly straight, curveball was best secondary pitch at 67-68 mph and shows sharp 11/5 action, slows arm slightly on 66-68 mph changeup  that shows late fading action through the zone.

Tyler Graham, SS/RHP, Hopkinsville HS, 2016
5-foot-10, 155-pound RHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with quick arm action, lands open at times, regular effort in delivery, throws consistent strikes with a three-pitch mix, fastball sat 78-80 mph touching 81 on one occasion, 65-68 mph curveball is solid with sharp 11/5 action, throws a 70-73 mph changeup with good arm action that displays good sink and fade and deception off the fastball.

Kevin McKnight, RHP/2B, Bullitt Central HS, 2016
5-foot-10, 150-pound RHP works through a high-3/4 to over the top arm slot with some effort in delivery, uses an over the head windup, lands slightly open at times, fastball sat 79-81 mph and thrown for strikes, showed a 65-67 mph curveball with mostly 12/6 action that was inconsistent in the strike zone, locates his 69-70 mph changeup consistently at the bottom of the strike zone.
