In front of a packed house of college coaches from all over the country, Team Kentucky put on an impressive show in going 2-0-1 at the PBR Future Games August 4-6 at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana.
The event began last Thursday with the position player workout.

Here are some of the highlights from the workout for Team KY players.
Six players ran sub-7.0 60’s with Rook Ellington and Reece Puckett ranking in the top 5 of the event.
6.67 – Rook Ellington, OF, McCracken Co HS, 2018
6.67 – Reece Puckett, OF, Bardstown HS, 2018
6.78 – John Ullom, OF, Male HS, 2018
6.86 – Bradley Taylor, 3B, Logan County HS, 2018
6.93 – Peyton Brown, OF, West Carter HS, 2018
6.95 – Cameron Langston, SS, McCracken Co HS, 2018
Two more players just missed, though they have both run sub-7 in the past.
7.03 – Trey Eden, OF, Madison Central HS, 2018
7.07 – Kyle Browning, OF, Lafayette HS, 2018
The infielders all showed solid arm strength.
86 – Bradley Taylor, 3B, Logan Co HS, 2018
85 – Nolan Melton, SS. Henderson Co HS, 2018
83 – Cameron Langston, SS, McCracken Co HS, 2018
82 – Seth Bacon, 2B/3B, North Oldham HS, 2018
The outfielders all showed 82 mph arm strength or better led by:
89 – Rook Ellington, OF, McCracken Co HS, 2018
87 – Kyle Browning, OF, Lafayette HS, 2018
Ellington’s 89 mph landed in the top 10 of the event.
Admittedly, the Team KY catchers did not throw the ball in the workout as well as we have seen with some off-line throws and slower releases, although Central Hardin’s Tyler Wood (2019) wasn’t far off. Wood and Matthew Ellis (Shelby Co, 2018) showed the most arm strength of the group at 79 mph (a number that landed them just outside the top 10) while Wood recorded the top pop time at 2.00.
Five players recorded an exit velocity of 90 mph or better with most others in the high 80’s.
94 - Rook Ellington, OF, McCracken Co HS, 2018
94 – Tyler Wood, C, Central Hardin HS, 2019
92 – Trey Eden, OF, Madison Central HS, 2018
92 – Cameron Langston, SS, McCracken Co HS, 2018
90 – John Ullom, OF, Male HS, 2018
