At The Yard Scout Day: Complete Results and Top Statistical Performers
November 7, 2018
The At The Yard Fall Scout Day took place on Saturday, October 27, and while this was a smaller event on a raw fall day with temperatures in the upper 40’s, there were still some players who made some noise in their workout for our staff. The following is a look at the top statistical performers from the event.

Top Pitcher Velocities
82 – Landen Scott, RHP, Simon Kenton HS, 2020
81 – Steven Jimenez, 3B/RHP, Rising Sun (IN) HS, 2020
79 – Ty Conner, LHP, Cooper HS, 2020
78 – Tyler Adkins, RHP, Simon Kenton HS, 2020
-With drizzle falling and temperatures in the mid-40’s, Scott pounded the zone with a three-pitch mix that included an 80-82 mph fastball, a 70-71 mph curveball with 11/5 shape and depth, and a 73-75 mph changeup. He features a short/quick arm action that provides some deception. Look for more velocity in the spring from the right-hander. Conner, a 6-foot-4 lefty, saw a sizeable increase in velocity from last fall.
Top 60 Yard Times
7.03 - Steven Jimenez, 3B/RHP, Rising Sun (IN) HS, 2020
7.08 – Steven Snelbaker, OF, Conner HS, 2019
7.13 – Marcus Berger, OF, Beechwood HS, 2020
7.18 – Lucas Weaver, SS. Ryle HS, 2021

76 – Steven Jimenez, 3B/RHP, Rising Sun (IN) HS, 2020
76 - Lucas Weaver, SS. Ryle HS, 2021
-Pearson significantly improved his measurables across the board, culminating with a big jump in arm strength. He flashes some pull side power at the plate, and moves fluidly in the infield with a quick release.
Top OF Velocities
79 – Marcus Berger, OF, Beechwood HS, 2020
- Berger was a clear standout on the field showing improved arm strength and foot speed, but it was his round of BP that opened eyes. He drove baseballs with regularity in showing easy home run power while also recording the top exit velocity of the day at 90 mph.
Top Catcher Velocity
68 – Nicholas Trimbur, C, Simon Kenton HS, 2020
Top Pop Time
2.07 - Nicholas Trimbur, C, Simon Kenton HS, 2020
Top Exit Velocities
90 - Marcus Berger, OF, Beechwood HS, 2020
84 – Steven Snelbaker, OF, Conner HS, 2019
84 - Steven Jimenez, 3B/RHP, Rising Sun (IN) HS, 2020
-Snelbaker and Jiminez are two solid, all-around players as both put together a quality workout. Snelbaker, an uncommitted senior, has the ability to play at the college level, and may be a solid pick up for a smaller-level school program looking for an outfielder with some athleticism and gap to gap power.
