Max Semler
North Texas Scouting Director

TEXAS - On Monday, July 8, we hosted the Top Prospect Games: Dallas at Dallas Baptist University. This invite-only event featured players from all high school classes that have earned their invite with our scouting staff. The day started with position players running a 60, throwing from defensive positions, and taking two rounds of BP. Following the workout, we went into simulated gameplay where the pitching data was recorded. Today, we take a look at some of the 2027 participants that stood out.

***For notes mentioned, I am grading against ML Players. If I say that a player has below avg arm strength, that is against ML Players, not their peers in HS.***

Hudson Holt 3B / OF / Rockwall, TX / 2027

6’0 175 Good frame/build for future strength. Multiple looks at Hudson this spring and summer. Good approach to hit. Line drive contact, I have seen over the fence power. 7.18 60. Moves well in OF tracking balls, will have at least ML avg arm in future. Infield workout, showed good 1st step, fair actions and footwork overall. Throws showed carry as infielder.

Pitched in game. Avg delivery and arm action. FB 82-87. CB 73-76 with feel to spin ball. CH 80. For me, hitter over pitching right now. Solid prospect. I like the approach, line drive guy, when he catches, shows power. Will get stronger, follow progress

Max Bachmann SS / RHP / Prestonwood Christian Academy, TX / 2027

6’3 194 Great build/frame to add strength. Solid setup to hit from slightly crouched stance, strides into good position. Rotational backside that he never gets completely engaged in swing. Barrel/hands in good start position, slight barrel tip movement creates length. Doesn’t show location recognition in BP. Never turns it loose hitting, feel type swing. Did have a couple of hits in game play. Defensively checks the boxes, actions, solid footwork showing carry to throws across.

Arm works fine on the mound, solid delivery. Doesn’t cut it loose on the mound with FB touching 82, shows feel for CB topping at 69.

For me, INF/hitter over pitching right now. Love the upside to the body. Will be solid defender. Waiting for confidence at the plate to take over and for him to make adjustments allowing for him to turn the barrel loose instead of feel approach. Definitely one to watch. Saw him in spring games at PCA and event this summer, saw the same player as this report.

Cole Coffman SS / C / St. John's, TX / 2027

6’3 177 Good frame/build to add strength. Good setup to hit, strides closed with drift off backside with stride. Back foot slides away from plate with swing losing power/impact. Hands/barrel in decent position to launch. Slow bat right now, strength will be a big help to bat speed along with cleaning up the lower half in swing. 7.5 60. Avg exchange and release catching in workout setting. 2.04-2.14 pop times. Received fine in game. Took GB’s at SS in workout. Dead stop fielder along with fielding baseball deep. Needs rep on the dirt. Catching ahead of infield play. Follow progress looking for added strength to impact tools positively.

Jaden Guerrero C / 3B / Andover Central, KS / 2025

5’9 162 Solid build with room to add strength. Decent approach to hit, open stance start, strides to online with pitcher. Rotational backside, inconsistent with backside use. C movement with hands as he takes his stride, hands drift above shoulders with movement. Bat and hand speed fair. 7.12 60. In workout, he showed solid pop times, 1.97-2.05. Throws showed some carry. Infield defense, feet stopped while fielding the baseball, otherwise had fair actions. Catching ahead of infield play. Needs to keep adding strength for success. Catcher with decent pop times, received fine in game. Watch progress

Gramm Davis C / OF / Waxahachie, TX / 2027

5’11 170 Good build/frame for future strength. Switch hitter. LH shows good approach with short swing showing line drive contact. Occ pulls off. RH similar set up, closes off slightly with stride. Rotational backside with back foot rotating and moving away from plate costing him bat speed and bat strength. Stride and separates hands with some lead arm bar creating length to swing. Contact is more consistent from the left side. Should be able to make adjustments to the RH approach over time. 7.57 60. Moved fine in OF, will have avg arm in future. 2.10-2.18 pop times in workout, slow release hinders times.

Arm worked fine on the mound with avg delivery. FB with 81 tops. Switch hitting catcher intriguing combinations for me. Will get stronger, good LH swing, see him developing the same from the right side. Watch progress
