Team Kansas Workout Day: Takeaways
July 26, 2024
From Wednesday, July 24, through Sunday, July 28, Prep Baseball is hosting the next edition of its prestigious Future Games at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Ga., featuring the country's best uncommitted talent. And, for the first time ever, the Future Games is hosting not just its typical set of incoming juniors and freshmen, but also a 17U division of uncommitted Class of 2025 players who will participate in the inaugural Senior Future Games.
On the first day of the 2024 Future Games, all players representing grad classes 2025, 2026, and 2028 will be participating in a pro-style workout in front of a fleet of Division I coaches alongside fellow prospects representing nearly every state in the nation.
Yesterday, our staff rolled out several of the day’s stat standouts in leaderboard format within our traditional ‘Stat Story’, which you can find HERE.
We’ve gone into greater detail within this piece from Wednesday’s workout and broken down more of the day’s standouts in written form. Continue reading below to learn more about a handful of players that turned heads in Team Kansas’ workout.
WORKOUT NOTES
+ C Carson May (Olathe East, 2026) owns all sorts of bat strength within a highly physical 6-foot-1, 211-pound frame. May impacted the baseball with the highest level of authority on repeat, producing a handful of low-100 exit velocities, including a 102.6 mph peak. He hammered his furthest ball 390 feet, comfortably clearing the left field wall and the building structure behind it. Defensively, May worked up to 80 mph from behind the plate and popped in the 1.87-to-1.92. May continues to only solidify his status as an upper-echelon prospect in the Kansas’ 2026 class.

Hanahan also ran a 6.83 60, reached 20.2 mph at peak, and jumped 33 inches in the vertical test.
