+ The unquestioned standout of this game was LHP Tucker Thompson (Gardner-Edgerton, 2026), who had the whole crowd buzzing after an electric two-inning performance. The lean, athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound southpaw threw his fastball at 89-92 mph from a fast, whippy true ¾ slot that grabbed several uncomfortable swings-and-misses at the top of the zone. With that, Thompson showed a short wrinkle low-80s slider with sweep and tunnel, while also turning over a changeup in the low-80s that worked on the arm-side corner of the plate. Thompson owns all sorts of upside and should be a popular name when August 1st rolls around.

+ MIF/OF Brady Stewart (St. Thomas Aquinas, 2026) has done nothing but perform at the plate throughout our trip to LakePoint and he put the finishing touches on a stellar showing with another strong performance. In his second at-bat. Stewart ripped a barrel deep into the right-center field gap, missing a home run by a few feet and settling for a loud standup double. His short, direct left-handed swing has proven capable of covering the plate this week, but his ability to flash power to the pull-side only boosts what he’s able to do at the dish.

+ RHP Roch Emanuel (Piper, 2026) pumped the strike zone over two near perfect innings of work. Plenty physical at 6-foot-5, 245-pounds, Emanuel’s fastball bumped up to 90 mph early, while pitching in the mid-to-upper-80s as he went on. He stayed on the corner consistently with his heater and was able to flip in a low-70s breaking ball with big depth for strikes as well.

+ C/1B Roy Roseman (Olathe West, 2026) showed well on both sides of the ball in Saturday’s finale. A switch-hitting backstop, Roseman muscled a single to the opposite field from the left side of the plate in his second at-bat. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound backstop also threw out a runner at third base.

+ RHP Henry Bertoncin (St. Pius X, MO, 2026) worked around the zone with a quality two-pitch mix across two innings of work. His arm played loose and easy out of a high ¾ slot with a fastball that sat 84-86 mph. Bertoncin turned to a low-70s breaking ball with tight spin as his go-to secondary, landing it for strikes throughout his outing. 

+ RHP Cale Fossett (Shawnee Mission North, 2026) is a physical 6-foot-2, 205-pound right-hander that touched 88 mph with his fastball in a two-inning appearance and also landed both his breaking balls, a curveball and slider mix, for strikes.
