Shortly after the event, our staff compiled several of the day’s stat leaders inside our traditional ‘Stat Story’, which you can find HERE

Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts below within these ‘Quick Hits’.

PITCHERS

+ RHP/INF Mason Young (Webb City, 2027) is a long, lanky standout on the mound from Tuesday’s event. Listed at 6-foot-1, 166-pounds with plenty of room to add size and strength, Young pitched in the low-80’s, topping out at 82 mph with his fastball. He also showed feel to command a low spin changeup at 67-68 mph and a true 12/6 curveball at 61 mph for strikes. Additionally, Young flashed feel for the barrel in his BP round, spraying line drives to the pullside throughout his round.

+ Another standout performance on the mound from a Missouri arm came from RHP/INF Owen Wilde (St. Elizabeth, 2028). Wilde shows plenty of promise in an athletic, compact frame, running his fastball up to 82 mph in this look while also being up to 84 mph in other looks earlier this spring. What stands out the most about the incoming freshman is the maturity in his ability to command both sides of the zone with his curveball/changeup mix. At the plate, Wilde also swung a quick, right-handed barrel, posting a peak exit velocity of 88.6 mph for good measure.

HITTERS

+ OF Beau Beverman (Olathe South, 2025) is a name to keep an eye on on both sides of the ball from this look. The 5-foot-10, 168-pound senior started off the day by posting the top 60 time of the day with a 6.61 mark. That speed translated over into the outfield where he effortlessly covered ground while firing a 86 mph bullet to pair, which was the second best mark on the day. Beverman continues to show progress at the plate as he gains strength, showcasing a balanced approach that works line drives to all fields. He sent his best ball of the day 90.9 mph off the bat with a rotational swing that accelerates through the zone.

+ Coming off of a big spring with Wamego, OF Kaden Kearn (2025), impressed our staff on both sides of the ball, coming away as one of the biggest winners from Tuesday’s event. Packed with athleticism in a 5-foot-11, 167-pound frame, Kearn found himself among the event leaders in nearly every statistical category, including 60 time (6.63 seconds) and vertical jump (30.5”). In the outfield, the senior was second among all participants with a 86 mph peak velocity while covering ground with ease. Where Kearn impressed the most was at the plate where his quick, (22.2 mph average hand speed and 72.5 mph average bat speed) inside-out swing consistently barreled balls from gap to gap. He sent his best barrel 350 feet at a 96.6 mph exit velocity while posting a strong average of 90.9 mph.

+ INF Hunther Loethen (Paola, 2025) came away as an uncommitted name to keep an eye on from this event. The senior put together a strong round of batting practice, flashing some pop and bat speed in a compact swing, reaching a 94.8 mph peak exit velocity. Defensively, Loethen showed off his athleticism at third base, firing a 83 mph bullet across the diamond with reliable hands and smooth actions to pair. Loethen also posted a 6.96 60 time and 30.3” vertical.

+ Another uncommitted senior of note from this look is INF/OF Anden Oviedo (Shawnee Mission South, 2025). Oviedo was constantly on the barrel throughout his BP round, flashing the ability to elevate the ball to the pullside and posting a 90.9 mph top exit velocity. Defensively, the senior’s arm played true in the field where he led all players in both outfield velocity (89 mph) and infield velocity (86 mph).

+ Coming off a strong freshman campaign with Paola, OF Blake Costlow continues to be an emerging name to follow from the 2027 class. Costlow sprayed line drives to all fields with a short, simple right handed stroke. His hardest ball came off the barrel at 88.5 mph with more to come as he adds strength to his 5-foot-8, 140-pound frame. Costlow also ran a 6.69 60 and fired a 80 mph mark from the outfield on his firmest throw.

+ With plenty of upside in a 5-foot-8, 172-pound frame, INF Terran Marshall (Mill Valley, 2025) impressed our staff once again in Tuesday’s look. Marshall swung a simple, athletic, right-handed barrel with the intent to elevate the ball to the pullside where he sent his best ball 322 feet. That athleticism carried over to the field where Marshall ran a 6.79 60. On the infield, the soon-to-be senior showed clean actions to pair with a 85 mph peak velocity across the diamond.

+ C Skyler Anderson (Macon, 2027) swung a strong right-handed barrel, flashing bat speed and an intent to do damage throughout his round of batting practice in Tuesday’s event. The 5-foot-10, 179-pound soon-to-be sophomore barreled his best ball 307 feet with an exit velocity of 92.8 mph. From behind the plate, Anderson produced pop times between 2.03-2.23, showcasing a quick transfer and developing arm strength.

+ INF Luke Throgmorton (Lone Jack, 2026) offers plenty of projection in a lean, 6-foot-2, 155-pound frame. At the plate he used his quick hands (23.8 mph average hand speed) to consistently line balls to the pullside with a long-levered swing that gets on plane early and stays through the ball. Throgmorton showed off his athleticism, running a 6.93 60 and posting a 31” vertical - the second highest mark of the day. To wrap up the day, Throgmorton showed off his arm strength, reaching 83 mph on his firmest throw across the diamond.

+ C/INF Krayton House (Mid-Buchanan, 2027) is a quick twitch athlete to note from Tuesday’s event. The 5-foot-10, 165-pound sophomore swung a short quick barrel from the right side, flashing advanced bat speed (75.5 mph) and hand speed (23 mph). He posted a 87.2 mph peak exit velocity with plenty more to come as he adds size and strength. House also ran a 6.90 60 and produced 2.06-2.18 pop times behind the plate.

+ OF Andrew Young (Webb City, 2025) came away as a winner on both sides of the ball from this event. At the plate, the uncommitted senior used a quick, connected swing from the left side to drive balls to the pullside gap, barreling his best ball 346 feet at 93.3 mph. Young showcased clean, reliable actions in the outfield, using his 5-foot-11, 173-pound frame to fire a 80 mph top outfield velocity to pair. He also showed that he can run, posting one of the top 60 times of the day with a 6.81 mark.

+ OF Xander Paul (Staley, 2026) showed loud tools on both sides of the ball in Tuesday’s look. In BP, the 5-foot-11, 155-pound junior sprayed line drives to all fields, swinging an easy, inside-out left-handed barrel that created natural loft, flashing juice at times. Paul was also among the event leaders in the 60 (6.79) and outfield velocity (85 mph)

TWO-WAYS

+ One of the top two-way prospects in Kansas’ 2027 class INF/RHP Connor McCool (Shawnee Mission South) looked the part on both sides of the ball in Tuesday’s event. McCool got the day started, showing off his athleticism by running a 6.84 60 to go along with a 30.1” - both among the top marks of the event. The 6-foot, 162-pound righty put together a loud round of BP, averaging 89 mph per batted ball with a top mark of 94.3 mph, sending his best ball 332 feet. McCool then showed off his arm strength, firing a 85 mph bullet across the infield on his firmest throw. That arm strength transferred over to the mound where he pitched at 82-84 mph with 2,200+ average RPM of spin on his fastball with a 2,400+ RPM slider and changeup to pair.

+ Another standout two-way performance came from INF/RHP Cohen Epler (Webb City, 2025). At the plate, the 5-foot-10, 166-pound senior showed a clean, easy right-handed swing that stayed level through the zone, lining balls back through the middle throughout his round of BP. Where Epler shined the most was on the mound where he showcased an effortless delivery, running his fastball up to 86.5 mph, consistently filling up the zone with strikes at 84-86 mph. He showed feel to command both sides of the plate with a slider at 71-74 mph and a low spin changeup at 78-79 mph.
