Today, after combing through our notes from the day, we’ve compiled some of the event’s standouts below within these ‘Quick Hits’.

PITCHERS

+ The No. 5 prospect in the Kansas 2027 class, RHP Kam Smith (Girard) had another standout showing on the mound in Tuesday’s look. Listed at 6-foot-2, 165-pounds with plenty of room to add strength and size, Smith was in complete command of both sides of the plate with all three pitches. The sophomore ran his fastball up to 85.4 mph while sitting at 84-85 mph with an average of 2,200+ RPM of spin. His fastball also played with natural carry, averaging 14 inches of vertical break. Smith also spun a curveball at 74-76 mph that reached 2,500 RPM of spin and mixed in a changeup with arm side fade at 74-76 mph.

+ RHP Cade Cantrell (Knob Noster, 2028) put together an impressive bullpen that was mature beyond his years in this look. The lean, projectable, 6-foot, 153-pound righty ran his fastball up to 84.3 mph, with plenty more to come, consistently sitting at 80-83 mph and playing with carry through the zone. His best secondary pitch at the moment looks to be his slider which he threw at 68-69 mph with an average, bullet-like spin rate of 2,629 RPM. Cantrell also turned over a low spin changeup at 70-72 mph that played with arm side run.

+ RHP Luke McKenna (Shawnee Mission South, 2028) is an upside 6-foot-5, 167-pound arm to keep an eye on from Tuesday’s event. McKenna used his long levers on the mound to effortlessly run his fastball up to 81.3 mph with plenty more to come as he continues to add strength to his frame. His fastball also played with natural carry at times, reaching 17 inches of vertical break. The soon-to-be freshman also showed the aptitude to command two offspeed pitches for strikes with a slider at 68-69 mph and a low-spin, tumbling changeup at 74-75 mph.

HITTERS

+ One of the top names in Kansas’ 2027 class, INF Brayden Shannon (Blue Valley Southwest, 2027) came away as one of the biggest winners from Tuesday’s event. The 6-foot-1, 164-pound soon-to-be sophomore started the day by showing off his noticeable athleticism, posting an event leading 6.47 60 time. At the plate Shannon was on the barrel often, sending line drives all over the field with a 86.6 mph average exit velocity. He sent his best ball 349 feet at 93.2 mph with plenty more to come as he continues to add strength. His athleticism played in the field as well, showcasing clean, sure-handed actions on the infield with comfortability on the move and a 85 mph top mark across the diamond to pair. Shannon will definitely be a name to keep an eye on in the future.

+ C/OF Tre Wilson (Iola, 2026) impressed our staff, showing loud tools on both sides of the ball in his Prep Baseball debut at Tuesday’s event. At 6-foot-1, 185-pounds, Wilson is packed with strength and athleticism, posting the day’s third best 60 time with a 6.69 mark and a 32.7” vertical. He swung a quick, loud barrel from both sides of the plate, reaching exit velocities upwards of 99.4 mph while averaging 91.1 mph per batted ball. He also barreled his best ball 364 feet - second best on the day. The junior shined defensively, reaching 88 mph from the outfield while also posting 1.85-1.88 pop times behind the plate thanks to a lightning quick transfer and strong, accurate arm.

+ Packed with strength and physicality in a 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame, OF D’Andre Roberson (William Chrisman, 2026) showed well on both sides of the ball in this event. Roberson fired a 85 mph mark from the outfield while also running a 6.83 60 - both among the leaders of the event. At the plate, the junior swung with intent, flashing gap-to-gap power with a strong, quick swing from the right side of the plate. He barreled his best ball at 96.5 mph, good for third best on the day.

+ C Mason Williams (Webb City, 2026) put together one of the most complete, all-around performances of the day. A standout behind the plate, Williams consistently posted 1.87-1.97 pop times, showing a quick transfer to go along with soft hands and flexibility in the crouch. His throws played with carry and accuracy from behind the plate, reaching 78 mph on his firmest bullet to lead all catchers. At the plate he swung a repeatable right-handed barrel that sprayed line drives back through the middle of the field with a 91.7 peak exit velocity. Williams also ran a 6.53 60 for good measure.

TWO-WAYS

+ OF/RHP Jasper Logan (Paola, 2025) put together a standout two-way performance in Tuesday’s look. Plenty physical at 6-foot-4, 175-pounds, Logan’s power was on full display at the plate, barreling the furthest ball of the day 372 feet at 98.5 mph. He also averaged 91.5 mph per batted ball thanks to a quick, repeatable swing from the right side of the plate. His arm strength was evident from the outfield, firing a 83 mph bullet. That arm strength carried over to the mound where he pitched in the low-80s with his fastball, commanding a slider/curveball/changeup mix for strikes. He also ran a 6.77 60 for good measure.

+ RHP/INF Brodee Rawlins (Olathe South, 2028) continues to emerge as a young name-to-know two-way player in the state’s 2028 class, flashing tools across the board in this event. Rawlins was consistently on the barrel throughout his round of BP, using a smooth, repeatable right-handed swing to reach exit velocities in the upper 80s and sending his best ball 321 feet. Defensively, he showcased clean actions on the infield, reaching 80 mph on his firmest throw - a top 3 mark on the day. Rawlins then wrapped up the day by hopping on the mound, pitching in the upper-70s with his fastball and showing advanced feel to land a changeup/curveball mix for strikes.

+ Another strong two-way performance came from INF/RHP Lennox Vann (Fort Scott, 2025). The uncommitted senior got the day started by showing off his athleticism, running a 6.88 60. In BP, Vann sprayed line drives to the pullside of the field, posting a 91.6 mph peak exit velocity. The 6-foot, 193-pound athlete also fired a 79 mph mark across the infield. On the mound, Vann pitched in the low-80s from a near sidearm slot, topping out at 83.4 mph with plenty more to come. Off of that he spun a curveball at 70-72 mph with 2,250+ RPM spin.

+ RHP/INF Blayne Lilienkamp (Carthage, 2026) is packed with physicality in a 6-foot, 214-pound frame. The righty swung a strong right-handed barrel with natural lift, barreling his best ball 326 feet at 91.7 mph. On the infield he fired a 85 mph bullet across the diamond - the top mark on the day.
