Wichita Winter Open Showcase: Outfielders Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Kansas held the Wichita Winter Open Showcase at Hoover Field in Wichata, Kansas. Nearly fourty players participated in the 2022 to 2019 classes from around the area.
Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.

Outfielders
Jayden Ast OF / OF / Nevada, MO / 2019Ast has an athletic build at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds, and is a right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2019 class. He ran a 7.51 60 and posted an exit velocity of 84 mph. During hitting evaluations, Ast has a quiet load, across the body stride, level bat path, minimal head movement, remains balanced throughout, showed a middle approach during batting practice. Defensively in the outfield, Ast attacks the baseball, momentum towards target, clean transfers, long clean arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 79 mph, fairly accurate throws. |
Dominic Bainter 1B / OF / Hays , KS / 2021Bainter is an athletic 5-foot-10, 160-pound, left-handed hitting outfield and corner infield prospect in Kansas’ 2021 class. At the event he ran a 7.32 60 and posted an exit velocity of 81 mph. During hitting evaluations, Bainter starts relaxed with an open stance, in line stride, loose hands, showed feel for the barrel during round, rhythm with hands, minimal dead movement, high finish with hands. In the outfield, Bainter shows an aggressive approach to the baseball, momentum towards target, three-quarter release, positional velo of 71 mph, mostly accurate throws. |
Lucas Barnes OF / RHP / Arkansas City , KS / 2022Barnes is 6-foot, 145-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 7.19 60 and posted an exit velocity of 75 mph.
