This week we have been rolling out the 2015 Prep Baseball Report Kansas end of the year honors starting with Kansas State commit Player of the Year RHP/1B Brogan Heinen (Topeka Hayden, 2015) on Wednesday and Saint Louis commit Pitcher of the Year RHP Miller Hogan (Blue Valley Southwest, 2015) yesterday.
Today we move on to the Offensive Player of the Year: Sedgwick senior SS Brylie Ware, a Neosho County CC commit.
Ware set the bar high with an impressive junior campaign a year ago earning the first of two consecutive KABC 3A Player of the Year awards. That spring he hit .706 collecting 23 extra base hits while striking out only once, he scored 41 runs and drove in another 32.
Fast-forward to 2015 and it was more of the same as Ware ended the season with a .700 batting average, 30 runs scored, 28 hits, four doubles, two triples, nine home runs and 29 RBI. He walked 21 times, struck out twice and stole 11 bases while posting an .821 on-base percentage and 1.575 slugging percentage. Throw in being hit by pitch six times and reaching on an error once and Ware recorded only 11 outs in 67 plate appearances.
