On August 2, Prep Baseball Report-Missouri/Kansas held the Top Prospect Games in Warrensburg, Missouri. Fifty players in both stats participated in the 2018 and 2017 class.
College recruiters and pro scouts have access to the updated player profiles on ScoutPlus. Profiles have been updated with video, profile picture, times and velos from the event. Today, we will break down the infielders performances from the event. Although some players may have participated in other positions, this is just a look at infield performances. Players are listed in alphabetical order.

Infielders
Cameron Beck, SS, Festus (MO), 2017
Beck is a 6-foot 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 7.12 60 and 4.74 home-to-first. He has an 84 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, in line stride, generates bat whip, quick bat speed, gap-to-gap approach flashing pull power. On the infield, over the top release, quick catch and throw, athletic footwork, soft hands, accurate throws, 75 mph positional velo, athletic actions.
Connor Cahill, SS, Blue Valley Northwest (KS), 2018
Cahill is a 6-foot 180-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2018 class. He ran a 7.38 60 and a 4.76 home-to-first. He has an 87 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, controlled stride, smooth rhythm, hands work inside the ball, swing produced line drives gap-to-gap in batting practice, collected two singles in game action to left and center. On the infield, over the top release, smooth transfer, gains ground after the catch, momentum towards 1B to throw, feet in sync with hands, 76 mph positional velo, mostly accurate throws.
Clayton Cory, 2B, Hickman (MO), 2018
Cory is a 5-foot-8 160-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 7.16 60 and a 4.78 home-to-first. He has an 80 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, early in line stride, quick and level path through the zone, swing produced mostly pull side line drives during batting practice. Singled to centerfield in game action. On the infield, 75 mph positional velo, over the top release, fields ball in athletic positon, quick catch and throw, accurate throws.
Ryan Ferger, SS, Blue Valley Northwest (KS), 2017
Ferger is a 6-foot-2 198-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2017 class. He ran a 7.22 60 and a 4.62 home-to-first. He has an 87 mph exit velo. At the plate, wide stance, leg kick, aggressive and quick swing, power to the pull side, strong hands, singled to left in game action. On the infield, 88 mph positional velo, top velo for the event, over the top release, arm works, momentum through the catch, quick feet working with transfer, strong and athletic frame, mostly accurate throws.
Meade Fry, 1B, Macon (MO), 2018
Fry is a 5-foot-11 175-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 7.42 60 and a 4.72 home-to-first. He has an 80 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced set up, short in line stride, quick bat speed, power to pull gap, level path through zone, swing produced middle to pull side line drives during batting practice, singled to right in game action. At first base, 72 mph positional velo, three-quarters release, moves well to the ball with clean transfer, accurate throws.
Bayler Hinz, 1B, St. Thomas Aquinas (KS), 2017
Hinz is a 6-foot-2 220-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas 2017 class, Drury University commit. He ran a 7.00 60, one of the top times of the event and a 4.60 home-to-first. He has a 93 mph exit velo, top RHH velo for the event. At the plate, balanced set up, smooth load, controlled leg kick, accelerated and aggressive swing, power to both gaps, solid hard contact during batting practice, doubled off the right center wall in game action. At first base, 81 mph positional velo, moves well for size, athletic with quick feet, over the top arm slot, accurate throws.
Gavin Jones, SS, Smith Cotton (MO), 2017
Jones is a 6-foot-1 190-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 7.03 60 and a 4.43 home-to-first. He has a 90 mph exit velo, one of the top for the event. At the plate, solid consistent contact during batting practice, gap-to-gap, power to pull gap, repeats swing, open stance, no wasted movement, fast bat speed, loose hands, stays on ball after contact. On the infield, high three quarters release, athletic actions, momentum through the catch, hands and feet in sync, mostly accurate throws, strong and athletic frame, 80 mph positional velo, one of the top for the event.
Braden Mahurin, 3B, Dixon (MO), 2018
Mahurin is a 6-foot 165-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 7.52 60 and a 4.81 home-to-first. He has a 75 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced stance, early in line stride, accelerated swing speed, level through the hitting zone, swing produced mostly middle of the field line drives, flashing pull power, singled to centerfield in game action. On the infield, 78 mph positional velo, over the top release, momentum to 1B after the catch, soft hands with clean exchange, loose arm action, mostly accurate throws.
Lawson McAteer, SS, CBC (MO), 2017
McAteer is a 6-foot-2 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 7.35 60 and has an exit velo of 80 mph. At the plate, balanced set up, leg kick, quick bat speed, level path through hitting zone, swing produced consistent pull side line drives during batting practice, feel for the barrel, singled to left in game action. On the infield, 80 mph positional velo, one of the top for the event, over the top release, athletic footwork, clean exchange and momentum through the catch, accurate throws.
Nick Modrcin, 1B, St. James Academy (KS), 2018
Modrcin is a 6-foot-1 185-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas' 2018 class. He ran a 7.95 60 and a 5.22 home-to-first. He has an 82 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced stand, smooth weight shift into back side, gap-to-gap approach, short path to contact, hands work inside ball, solid single to centerfield and double down left field line in game action. At first base, 74 mph positional velo, quick over the top release, quick feet, clean exchange, accurate throws.
Luke Moehle, 3B, Summit Christian (MO), 2018
Moehle is a 5-foot-11 180-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 7.33 60 and a 4.57 home-to-first. He has an 84 mph exit velo. At the plate, athletic stance, smooth load into back side, minimal hand load, swing produced gap-to-gap line drives consistently, repeats swing, single to left field and hard line drive out to centerfield in game action. On the infield, over the top release, 75 mph positional velo, fluid actions, mostly accurate throws.
Hunter Ostertag, SS, Atchison (KS), 2017
Ostertag is a 5-foot-6 145-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas' 2017 class. He ran a 6.94 60 and a 4.65 home-to-first. He has a 79 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced set up, leg lift with minimal load, hands loose thought the hitting zone, middle of the field line drives during batting practice. On the infield, 79 mph positional velo, over the top release, works through the catch with momentum, quick feet, accurate throws.
Corey Palmero, SS, Francis Howell (MO), 2018
Palermo is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 7.65 60 and a 4.91 home-to-first. He has a 77 mph exit velo. At the plate, open stance, leg kick, in line stride, quick bat speed, loose hands, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, 71 mph positional velo, quick actions, feet and hands work together, clean transfer, over the top release, mostly accurate throws.
Drew Reed, 3B, Union (MO), 2017
Reed is a 5-foot-11 194-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 7.62 60 and a 4.88 home-to-first. He has a 90 mph exit velo. At the plate, strong frame with loose hands, simple and controlled swing mechanics, balanced set up, short in line stride, quick bat speed, solid consistent line drives gap-to-gap during batting practice, singled to centerfield in game action. On the infield, 81 mph positional velo, one of the top for the event, over the top release, momentum thought he catch, quick footwork with fluid transfer, accurate throws.
Lane Sanders, SS, Belle (MO), 2017
Sanders is a 6-foot 190-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 7.23 60 and 4.80 home-to-first. He has an 81 mph exit velo. At the plate, tall and balanced stance, short stride, no wasted movement, quick bat speed with level path through the zone, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, 69 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, fluid glove to hand transfer, loose arm action, tall and lean frame, projectable.
Kyle Stringer, 3B, Labette County (KS), 2017
Stringer is a 6-foot-2 210-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2017 class, committed to Missouri State. He ran a 7.35 60 and a 4.88 home-to-first. He has a 92 mph exit velo, one of the top for the event. At the plate, physical hitter, open stance, smooth load, loose hands, power to pull gap, stays on ball after contact, hard contract during batting practice. On the infield, 82 mph positional velo, one of the top of the event, three quarters release, athletic footwork, soft hands, fluid transfer with quick release, loose arm action, accurate throws.
Charlie Stuart, 2B, Kirksville (MO), 2017
Stuart is a 5-foot-10 168-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 7.51 60 and a 4.59 home-to-first. He has a 79 mph exit velo. At the plate, balanced stance, short stride, simple and repeatable movements, quick bat level through the zone, swing produced consistent line drives gap-to-gap, singled to left in game action.
