Top-10 Profiles of 2020: No. 4 Jeremy Comer

As the year starts to unwind, our staff will start to highlight the top-10 most viewed profiles from 2020 - starting at 10 and counting down

Today we’ll shine some light on the fourth most viewed profile of 2020, St. James Academy OF Jeremy Comer. He’s the second overall prospect in the state’s 2023 class and also garnered some national attention by our scouting supervisors, ranking 220th overall in the country for his age.

Comer attended our Between The Lines Scout Day event back in February, where he was one of the top players in attendance, regardless of class. A lanky 6-foot-3, 180-pound athlete, there’s plenty of present polish and upside harnessed within Comer’s all-around profile. He swings a silky smooth left-handed bat with loose hands and stays on plane, naturally elevating the ball through contact.

Here is what our National Supervisor, Nathan Rode, had to say about him in an Early Summer Tournament Standouts piece back in July:

“Comer is long, lean and athletic at 6-foot-3, 170 pounds. At the NPI, he showed advanced hand-eye coordination and feel for the barrel. He has elite hand speed with leverage in his swing to create advanced pop, especially to the pull side. He also jumped on the mound and filled up the zone with a low-80s fastball.”

Comer is committed to Tenneseee and, while he’s still a few years away from finishing out his high school career, his future upside as an impact bat for the Volunteers is evident.
