Season Outlook

The Rock Creek Mustangs took an undefeated record into the Kansas Class 4A-DII state tournament where they finished third.  In 2018, the Mustangs look for their their 5th straight Mid-East League title and return to the fifth straight state tournament.  Senior shortstop and right-handed pitcher, Carson Zenger, is a three year starter and two-time all state player.  He was 4-0 last season on the mound and batted .414 with 28 RBI.  Watch for senior catcher Tucker Gehrt to improve on a successful 2017 season where he came back from injury and Sky White to lead after being named All-Mid East League as a junior.  Junior Toby Becker is a versatile player with great command on the mound. Look for Becker to play a role bigger role season after missing most of 2017 with Mono.  Junior right-handed pitcher Ian Russell threw varsity innings last year and looks to step into a major role this season. The Mustangs return a lot of players with varsity experience of off a team that finished 21-1 last season.  2018 could be another special year for the Mustangs.
