On Sunday, Feb. 6, Prep Baseball Report will host the 20th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 25 first-round picks and 26 second-rounders.
We've started our march toward the Super 60 by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school careers, leading them to this point, vying for the attention of the pro scouting community.
Scouting Report
Positional Profile: SS
Body: 6-foot-1, 185-pound well-built and athletic frame.
Hit: SWITCH. At the plate starts with an athletic posture from both sides of the plate and utilizes a short two tap stride with good rhythm. Likes to play the ball deeper in the zone and has a short bat path with very quick hands. Gets good extension through the ball and is showing some present strength at contact. Explosive bat speed from both sides of the plate. Level bat path and does a good job of matching plane.
Power: 92 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. INF-86 mph. High ¾ arm slot with a very quick hand and loose arm action.
Defense: In the infield maintains good athletic position throughout the fielding process. Very clean feet and routes to the ball. Exchanges are clean and quick. Showcases good lateral movement and ability to cover ground. Good feel for the control of the body and also has very soft hands. Projects to stay in the middle of the diamond at the next level. Very good overall defender.
Run: 4.08 runner from home to first.
