On Sunday, Feb. 7, Prep Baseball Report will host the 19th edition of its prestigious, flagship event: the Super 60 Pro Showcase. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 300 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 22 first-round picks and 25 second-rounders.
We started our our march toward the Super 60 earlier this month, by highlighting the prospects set to join us, shining a light on their impressive player profiles that they've groomed through their high school years and beyond.
Scouting Report
9/8/20
Jans is a quick-twitch athlete with plus speed and some power potential thanks to quick hands and a compact stroke. His speed has the potential to be a gamechanger in the Big 12, and should it all come together while on campus. He has the tools to be a star. Jans was a member of the 2019 ARK/KAN PBR Future Games roster and he's continued to rise since. He ran a 6.45 at the PBR Midwest Pro Day, generating a max exit speed of 99.1 mph, too. An exciting speed/power combination.
6/5/18
Jans is a 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 6.60 60 and a 4.34 home to first. At the plate, starts with a square stance in base, smooth load in hands and weight, short stride, quick bat speed, level though the zone, gap to gap line drives with power to pull gap. On the infield, 81 mph positional velocity, athletic actions, quick feet to the ball, aggressive, short high three quarters arm slot, strong build with quick twitch movements, player to follow in the 2021 class.
