Player Spotlight: OF/RHP Nolan Beets (Gardner Edgerton, 2016)

Nolan Beets (Gardner Edgerton, 2016) is a 5-foot-11 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher. He is a quick-twitch athlete with tools.
At the plate, Beets has a balanced set-up, smooth load, and short path to ball. He has fast bat, extension through the ball with simple, repeatable swing mechanics. He has an exit velocity clocked of 94 mph, ran a 4.16 home-to-first, and runs a 6.94 60. Beets attacks the ball in the outfield, has quick exchanges, and a quick high three-quarters arm action. He has a positional velo of 88 mph throwing velocity, with accurate throws.
On the mound, somewhat raw. He has an aggressive delivery and throws with some effort. High three-quarters slot, with fastball at 87 mph, working 84-86 mph. He has an 11-to-5 breaking ball at 65-67 mph.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Beets: I am interested in nursing so looking for a school with a good program, I would like to stay close to home maybe within 4to5hours, but if the right opportunity presented its self I would certainly consider it,
PBR: What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do? What are you goals for your senior year.
Beets: My sophomore year I started every game mostly in outfield and occasionally on shortstop. Our team finished above 500. I batted lead off and hit close to 400. Stole 12 bases and had 12 RBI's. My goal my senior year is to lead the EKL in batting and steals, and to make all conference and all state 1st team.
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?
Beets: I play for Building Champions
PBR: Describe your experience that the 2014 Future Games.
Beets: It was an honor to represent my state at the PBR futures games, Loved playing there in front of all the scouts. Made a lot of lasting friendships.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Beets: I play no other sports
PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?
Beets: I will be taking the act in September. I have a GPA of 3.2
