Player Spotlight: Jake Webb (Pittsburg, 2017)

Jake Webb (Pittsburgh, 2017)  is a 6-foot-4 185-pound right-handed pitcher.  At the Kansas Class of 2017 Games in June, Webb was up to 90 mph with is fastball and sat 86-88 mph.  He showed a sharp, late breaking curveball at 76-79 mph.

Webb has gained interest from several schools and is pitching for the Mac N Seitz Red Sox this summer.  Here is a look inside the recruitment of Jake Webb.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Webb: I have no visits scheduled.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Webb: I am looking for a place to get a good education in business as well as a good student atmosphere.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

Webb: My junior year was a big step for my team and I. As a team we got second in our conference, second in our regional and ended with a season record of 13-8. My ERA this season was 2.0, I pitched 34 ⅔ innings for a personal record of 3-2 and gave up 9 earned runs on the season.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Webb: My team goals for my senior season are to go undefeated, keep a team ERA under 2.0, a 100% fielding percentage, and make it to the state tournament.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Webb: I play for the Mac n Seitz Red Sox in the summer and will be playing fall ball on the Royals Fall Team.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Webb: I was a three sport athlete playing baseball, basketball, and football until my junior year.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Webb: My ACT is a 20 and my GPA is a 3.5.
