Brendan Ryan (St. Thomas Aquinas, 2018) is currently gearing up for his senior season and playing for the Royals Fall Scout Team. The lefty hitter was named 2nd Team All-EKL as junior.
Here is a look inside the recruiting process for Brendan Ryan.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
Ryan: I'm looking for a school with a good history of winning and that has a strong culture. Also a warm weather state where you can practice outside all year long and not have to worry about rain outs. At the moment I am receiving interest in only junior college but also am interested in a four-year school.
PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?
Ryan: My junior year was my first year at Aquinas and we had a record of 16-4. Personally I hit .320 and was named Second Team- All EKL. Our team finished short of the state championship loosing in the finals.
PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?
Ryan: This spring, I am most of all wanting to win a state championship, but personally I would like to hit above .400 and also look to help the pitching staff out with maybe becoming a starter.
PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?
Ryan: I play for Advanced Baseball Academy in the summer and fall and also the Royals scout team in the fall.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
Ryan: Played basketball freshmen and sophomore year.
PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?
Ryan: Act is 24 and GPA is 3.0
