The 2015 Major League Draft takes place June 8-10. In advance of the draft, Prep Baseball Report is posting a summary of each state in the coverage area with scouting reports on the top high school draft prospects.
The talk in Kansas is all about the 2016 draft class and it being the best the state has seen in a long time, but we have to get through the 2015 class right now. It’s an arms race in the state this year, though the top prospects figure to be unsignable so they’ll be reevaluated in three years.
1. Connor Kaiser, RHP/SS, Blue Valley West HS, KS
On a consistent state championship contender, Kaiser has been well known in Kansas for his glove. He has quick feet, soft hands and a strong arm while showing some bat speed at the plate. However, it’s his arm that scouts like and they envision his future being on the mound.
