This group features some very strong arms from behind the dish.
SCOUTING REPORT
Kilgore is an athletic and lean 6-foot 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher and shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 7.08 60 and a 4.35 home to first. He had an 89 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, some pre pitch rhythm in lower half, quiet hands, quick leg lift, in line stride, level path and quick bat speed, middle to pull side pop, gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, square set up in base, quick catch and release, smooth actions, transfer on time with footwork, replaces feet, short over the top arm slot, 79 mph positional velocity, 1.98 to 2.10-second pop times, mostly accurate throws with carry. On the infield, short over the top arm slot, quick actions with aggressive footwork to the ball, clean transfer and throw, accurate throws with carry, 85 mph positional velocity, projection in build with plenty of room to add strength to build and quick twitch actions.
