Advanced Baseball Academy Scout Day: Outfielder's Analysis

On December 17, Prep Baseball Report - Kansas held the Advanced Baseball Academy Scout Day. Over forty players attended the event in the 2021 to 2019 classes.

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.

Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos. Today will take a closer look at the outfielders from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

Outfielders

Joe Brethour OF / RHP / Blue Valley North, KS / 2021

Brethour is a 5-foot-6 135-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.69 home to first and has a 70 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with an open stance, works to a crouched position with short and square stride, level path with one hand release. In the outfield, 66 mph positional velocity, over the top release, works through the catch, clean exchange.

Cooper Cox OF / LHP / Gardner Edgerton , KS / 2020

Cox is a 6-foot 145-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class. He ran a 4.45 home to first and has a 74 mph exit velocity. Offensively, balanced set up, smooth load to back side, minimal hand movement, slightly closed off, short stride, gap to gap line drives. In the outfield, 62 mph positional velocity, quick catch and throw, fluid footwork on time with exchange, over the top release, plays through the ball.

Ian Deghand 2B / OF / Gardner Edgerton, KS / 2020

Deghand is a 5-foot-7 135-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2020 class. He ran a 4.64 home to first and has a 72 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, minimal hand load, short stride, fluid pre swing rhythm, hands control the bat through the zone, middle approach. In the outfield, 73 mph positional velocity, over the top arm slot, short crow hop after catch, works with the ball with momentum, clean transfer.

Jackson Earlywine RHP / OF / Paola , KS / 2021

Earlywine is a 6-foot 155-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.26 home to first and has a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with wide base, short stride, no wasted moved movement, level bat path, body stays under control during swing. In the outfield, 78 mph positional velocity, over the top release, loose arm action, fluid footwork with exchange, lean frame with projection.

Alec Heriford OF / RHP / Raymore-Peculiar , MO / 2020

Heriford is a 5-foot-10 145-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.82 home to first and has a 73 mph exit velocity. At the plate, thin and open stance, short in line stride, slight lift to bat path, middle to pull approach. Coby Hoffman OF / 2B / Olathe South, KS / 2020

Zaden Marroquin C / SS / Olathe East , KS / 2021
