TOP RETURNERS (College Commitment)
Brock Schaffer, LHP/OF, 2015 (Hutchinson CC)
Nick Johnston, RHP/IF, 2015 (Washburn)
Tyler Harris, RHP/OF, 2015

X-FACTOR
Brock Schaffer. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound left-hand hitting outfielder earned all-league honors last spring and is also an intriguing prospect on the mound.

NEWCOMERS TO WATCH
Two promising sophomores look to advance to the varsity level and contribute this spring in shortstop Cole Taylor and 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher Austin Ray.

KEY PLAYER LOST
Lucas Milner, RHP/IF, 2014 (Neosho County CC).
The Jaguars must replace a number of key seniors from last season’s league and regional championship team, namely Milner who racked up KABC all-state honors in each of the last two seasons as a two-way talent for Central.

NOTEWORTHY
Central moves up a class to 5A this spring after a one-year stint in 4A-I.

2015 OUTLOOK:
The Jaguars lost a number of key contributors from last season’s 15-7 league and regional championship team but have a solid core of seniors returning including left-handed pitcher/outfielder Brock Schaffer; KABC 4A-I first team all-state right-handed pitcher Nick Johnston (3-0, 0.84 ERA, 1 Save in 2014); all-league right-handed pitcher/center fielder Tyler Harris and first baseman Jake Lewallen. In addition, with over half the every line-up from last spring departed, the door is open for a group of newcomers to step forward this spring.
