Top Prospects
+ '24 RHP Logan Bingham (Jeffersonville) looks primed for a big senior season after an impressive showing at the Southern Indiana Preseason ID. A projectable, 6-foot-7, 215 pounder that appears to have made strong changes in his overall body composition entering this season, Bingham sat 88-90 on his fastball, touching 91.9 mph on his best bullet. The Middle Tennessee State signee paired a short, tight, 77-82 mph slider off of his four-seam heater. Bingham also showed a two-seam fastball at 88-90 mph, pairing a very solid changeup off of it at 78-80 mph. The changeup is his best offspeed offering, at the moment. Bingham is a strike-thrower, traditionally, and the improved stuff should allow him to build off a strong junior season.

+ '27 SS Landon Martinez (Concordia Lutheran HS, Texas) traveled in for the Southern Indiana Preseason ID all the way from Texas. The 6-foot, 170 pound freshman shortstop was very impressive during the infield portion of defensive evals, showing advanced actions for the age with a big arm to pair (89 across). Martinez is an advanced position player prospect for the class, and showed upside with the bat, showing a short, repeatable, right-handed stroke. Martinez hits out of a no-stride and sequences properly to allow the barrel to work to the front of the zone with solid bat speed for the class. To round out a solid overall toolset, Martinez turned in a 7.13 60 yard dash.

'25 LHP/OF Travis Combs (Floyd Central) is an interesting two-way prospect from the southern part of the state. I really liked Combs on the mound, an athletic, 6-foot, 165 pounder that uses an athletic delivery. His arm works with a loose, easy sling to a 3/4 release point, working 81-84 mph on his fastball. His breaking ball holds out pitch upside, tightly-spun (2850) at 69-71 mph with 18.3" of sweep, on average. Combs is just now transitioning to the mound, and holds significant upside there. As a position player, Combs is a speedy (6.83 60) centerfielder that can range in the outfield. His swing works uphill with some strength, with his max exit velocity registering at 93.1 mph.

+ '26 RHP Jackson Trueblood (Trinity Lutheran) offered a high upside look in his bullpen session. A wiry, projectable, 6-foot-3, 175 pounder, Trueblood's arm is whippy with above average arm speed for the class. His fastball sat 84-86 mph, with cutting action. Jackson paired a slurvey, 70-74 mph breaking ball with a firm fastball. The changeup has come along since looks in 2023, now a usable pitch at 75-78 mph. Trueblood is a sophomore that we have been monitoring for awhile, and he has made strong improvements in his overall command a repeatability. Far from a finished product, Trueblood will be a priority follow for our staff as we move through 2024.

+ '27 RHP Charlie Conyers (Floyd Central) showed one of the firmest fastballs we've seen of any freshman in the state at the Southern Indiana Preseason ID. Conyers is an interesting prospect, a high-intent, high-effort mover that sequences well within the delivery and has very quick arm speed. His fastball worked at 85-87 mph, with carry properties (20.2" IVB average). His best offspeed pitch is his 71-75 mph slider, a pitch that flashes late bite and holds upside. His overall command is spotty, but he does show flashes of the ability to command the zone. Conyers will be a fun follow over the next four years, with upside as a future-power righty.

+ '25 OF Brayden Giesler (Jasper) is an uncommitted junior to know. A strong, athletic, 6-foot-3, 195 pound left-handed hitter - Giesler showcased bat strength with an exit velocity that peaked at 96.6 mph. Giesler sets up in a strong, grounded stance before making a simple load into the back leg and turning the barrel on a slightly upward path. The Jasper product is using his lower-half in the swing better than he did in 2023, which should allow for more consistency this season. A 7.18 runner, Giesler was up to 84 mph from the outfield, as well.
