Fort Wayne Carroll 9 Crown Point 2

Defending state champions Carroll is headed back to the state finals. Gavin Downs picked up the win on the mound, holding Crown Point?s offense to just four hits. After taking a 1-0 lead in the first Carroll added two more runs in the second on a two run single from Tanner Ginder. Carroll would build a six run lead after three innings getting four hits in the third inning. Carroll would collect 10 hits in the game, Grant Wilson had two including a triple. Jeremy Shelmadine also had a triple, Elliot ford scored three times, and Steve Remesnik scored twice.

Cathedral 1 Terre Haute South 0

If anyone was hoping for a great pitching duel between aces Dillon Peters and AJ Reed they were not disappointed. Peters got the victory going all seven innings allowing just two hits, three walks, and striking out 10. Reed was equally as good going six innings allowing three hits, one unearned run, no walks, and 12 strikeouts. The lone run came in the fourth inning when Phil Mosey was able to reach on a fielding error to start the inning. He would advance to second on a wild pitch and then stole third. Brandon Flood would hit a deep fly with one out allowing Mosey to tag and scored. THS would had their opportunity in the third with first and second with one out, but Peters struck out Reed and Ricky Wheatfill to get out of the inning.

Mishawaka Marian 5 New Haven 4

Taylor Krugh picked up the victory going all seven innings allowing four runs on six hits and striking out 12. Marian trailed 1-0 going into fourth inning, but their offense finally broke through against New Haven?s Brandon Pease. Andrew Price led off the inning with a double and Marian would get three run scoring doubles from Krugh, Matt Gibson, and Corey Samuels to take a 3-1 advantage. Chase Parker drove in another run in the fourth on a double and Gibson had triple in the sixth, later scoring on a sac fly to give Marian a 5-1 lead after six innings. New Haven wouldn?t go quietly though as they loaded the bases in the 7^th getting a run on a passed ball then two more from a Lucas Salerno single. Three runs would be all that New Haven would get as Krugh was able to end the rally and let the celebration begin

Crawfordsville 9 Edgewood 5

Crawfordsville?s great season was extended one more game behind the pitching of Cory Rice and a great offensive attack. Rice picked up his 13^th win of the year throwing six innings allowing five runs on four hits and striking out six. Edgewood held a 1-0 lead going into the third inning, but Jordan Kiger was finally able to break through for Crawfordsville hitting a three run homerun. Nick Raventos tied the game up in the top of the fourth with a two run single. Crawfordsville would regain the lead scoring three in the bottom of the inning and three more in the 5^th to give them a 9-3 lead. Joel Hobson had two hits, a RBI, and a run scored and Caleb Rasmussen scored twice for Crawfordsville.

Hanover Central 4 Taylor 3

Hanover Central ace Andy Wellwerts didn?t disappoint picking up the victory by going all seven innings allowing two earned runs (three total) on six hits and striking out 11. Taylor would jump on the board first scoring a run in the top of the first inning. HC tied the game up in the second when Nick Spangler took a bases loaded walk that scored Tyler Trepton. Trepton would be a the key hitter in HC?s three run third, when he hit a two run single giving HC a two run lead. Trepton would later score giving HC a 4-1 advantage. Taylor would score a run in the fourth and sixth, but that?s all that Wellwerts would allow.

South Spencer 7 Park Tudor 0

Jordan Meece picked up the win shutting down a powerful Park Tudor offense. Meece went all seven innings allowing just five hits and striking out two. South Spencer?s offense which exploded in regionals continued their hot hitting putting up seven runs against Park Tudor?s experienced pitching staff. Nathan Hale had the big hit of the day driving a ball over the fence to give South Spencer a 3-0 lead after three innings. Park Tudor?s main threat came in the fourth when they loaded the bases, but Meece was able to get a ground ball double play to end the threat. South Spencer knocked off the top two ranked teams (Forest Park and Park Tudor) en route to a date in the state finals.

Lafayette Central Catholic 3 South Central (Union Mills) 1

Brett Haan pitched LCC into the state finals throwing all seven innings allowing just one run on three hits and striking out six. LCC got their first run on a balk in the top of the third with Haan batting he asked for time, but was not awarded it as SC pitcher Dan Synder had begun his windup. However Snyder thought there was time and did not throw the ball resulting in the balk. LCC would hold onto that lead until Ryan DeBoy would drive a ball over the fence for a two run homerun, scoring Austin Munn. Haan would finally allow a run in the 7^th when Snyder led off the inning with a double, later scoring. A two out walk would bring the tying run to the plate, but Haan was able to get a ground ball to send LCC to their third consecutive state finals. The two time defending champs will try for the three peat against North Central (Farmersburg).

North Central (Farmersburg) 9 Loogootee 6

Craig Bell?s bat has been a consistent threat all year long for NC and Semi-State was no different. Bell had a big day at the plate going 3-3 with a double, three homeruns, six RBIs, and two runs. NC got on the board early as Bell doubled in Zach and Nate Lyday. Bell drove in three more in the third with a three run homerun that plated Cole Johnson and Connor Strain. Zach Lyday drove in a run in the fourth, Bell hit a solo homerun in the fifth, and Collin Harding had a two RBI single in the sixth. Bell replaced NC starter Strain on the mound in the 6^th, but after allowing three runs (cutting the lead to 7-6 at the time), Strain came back onto the mound to finish the game. Strain picked up the victory throwing 6.2 innings allowing two earned runs (three total) on three hits and striking out three.
