Indiana Player of the Week : Week #3

Our Player of the Week honors will be awarded each week of the high school season. High school coaches will be asked to submit their candidate for Player of the Week after the conclusion of each week, please send all submissions to [email protected] for consideration for this award.

Our Week #3 honors goes to OF Brandt Kendall of Scottsburg High School.


Brandt Kendall OF / Scottsburg, IN / 2025

The Ball State recruit receives our player of the week honors for Week #3 after going 8 for 10 (.800) with three doubles, two triples, two home runs, six RBI, and six runs scored. Kendall was 1 for 3 with a home run in his first game of the week, hit for the cycle in a 5 for 5 performance, and added a 2 for 2 day with two doubles against Jasper to finish the week. 

 

 


Honorable Mentions

Isaac VanderWoude, SS, Illiana Christian, Senior

The Virginia signee had a huge week, leading Illiana Christian to a 3-0 record. The Preseason 2A All-State SS went 7 for 7 on the week, collecting a double, triple, and homer - while scoring eight times and driving in eight runs. 

Drew Helton, INF/RHP, Whiteland, Senior

Helton batted .500 (6 for 12) on the week, clubbing two doubles, a triple, and a homer. The Purdue-Fort Wayne recruit also helped Whiteland to a win in his start on the bump, going six innings with two earned runs. 

Landon Miller, RHP, Fairfield, Senior

Miller was outstanding on the mound this week for the Falcons, collecting (2) complete game wins. The Indiana tech recruit threw eleven scoreless innings (0.00 ERA), striking out sixteen, and allowed just four hits. 

Kaleb Henry, RHP, Merrillville, Sophomore

The sophomore right-hander tossed a no-hitter versus Whiting - working seven innings with one walk, one run, and seven strikeouts. 

Nolan Decker, LHP, Noblesville, Senior

Decker twirled a complete game against Fishers to complete the sweep for Noblesville. Decker allowed zero walks, zero runs, and struck out 5 in the win. 

Nate Dutkowski, SS, Northwood, Junior

The junior shortstop had a big hand in Northwood's 3-0 week, going 5 for 9 (.556) with a homer, seven runs scored, and he reached based at a .733 clip. 

Landon Porfidio, Pitcher, Winchester Community, Sophomore

Porfidio threw a perfect game in a 2-0 win against Union City. The sophomore pitcher struck out 10 in this performance. 

Brayden Teer, CF, Blackford, Senior

Teer has gotten off to a hot start for Blackford and continued to do so this week. Teer went 4 for 5 with two home runs this week, and already has five home runs on the season. Teer also added a win for Blackford on the mound in his start this week. 

Michael Slabaugh, C, Fairfield, Senior

The Huntington recruit went 7 for 14 (.500) this week, adding a double, three triples, and a home run, while driving in six. 

Tyler Allemeier, SS, Heritage Christian, Senior

The Taylor recruit went 6 for 11 (.545) with two doubles, a home run, five stolen bases, six runs scored, and he collected seven RBI. 

Connor Osborne, OF, Bloomington South, Junior

The junior left-handed hitter had two big performances for the Panthers this week. Osborne went 5 for 6 (.833) with a double, a home run, and he drove in five runs while scoring four. 

Jake Winger, INF, McCutcheon, Sophomore

The highly-touted uncommitted sophomore has gotten off to a red-hot start this spring. Winger went 6 for 11 (.545) with three doubles, a home run, and he drove in eight. He also added a win on the mound for McCutcheon. 

Blake Smythe, LHP, Franklin Community, Sophomore

Smythe turned in a huge performance for Franklin in his outing this week, throwing six scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, striking out fifteen. 

Gabe Mathison, LHP/OF, Carmel, Junior

Mathison helped the Greyhounds to a 3-1 week, going 7 for 15 at the dish with seven runs scored, three stolen bases, and three RBI - including the walk-off hit versus Dwenger. Mathison also earned a win against HSE, throwing four scoreless innings with one walk and eight strikeouts. 

Bryce LaSane, INF/C, Mishawaka Marian, Senior

The Triton recruit went 6 for 10 (.600) this week for Marian, driving in eight runs, and adding a double and a homer. 

Will Coleman, LHP, Castle, Junior

The Missouri recruit tossed a complete game shutout against highly ranked Evansville North, earning Castle the 1-0 win, striking out twelve. He also had a standout week at the dish, going 8 for 10 (.800) with six runs scored batting out of the Castle leadoff spot. 

Michael Fliss, RHP, North Central, Senior

The Cincinnati recruit threw a no-hitter versus Warren Central this week, earning the win and punching out 10. 

Jacob Morris, RHP/INF, New Palestine, Sophomore

Morris went 7 for 12 (.583) this week, collecting six RBI in four games. Morris also tossed a no-hitter in his start versus Lebanon, striking out eleven in a six inning, run-rule win.
