We are in full swing with our spring preview coverage and this week's edition covers ten juniors that are looking to make a big impact during their first full varsity season. This group features both committed and uncommitted players alike, focusing on players that have made significant jumps since their sophomore spring that will vault them into an impact role as a junior.

Joe Glander RHP / Noblesville, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 16 / POS: 5 OverallRank: 372 / POS: 110 The highest ranked player on this list, Glander is committed to play his college baseball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and looks to make an impact on a Noblesville pitching staff that has a chance to be one of the strongest in the HCC. A former Future Gamer with an upside frame at 6-foot-2, 160 pounds - Glander has gained a bit of varsity experience over the course of the past two seasons, but should step into a starter role this spring. Effortless whip in the arm swing translates to a fastball that we have seen reach into the upper-80s (T89 mph) and could easily tick up this spring. The Millers will look to Glander, amongst others, to help replace 2023 4A First Team All State RHP Bryce Riggs in the starting rotation in order to repeat the success they had last season.

Joshua Flores RHP / Lake Central, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 19 / POS: 8 Flores broke out at the Preseason All-State in 2023 before going on to have a very strong performance on the fall circuit that led to his commitment to Cincinnati. An athletic right-hander that has ticked into the low-90s with his fastball, along with showing a potential next-level out-pitch in his firm slider, Flores will look to earn a spot in a talent-filled Lake Central starting rotation this spring. Flores will team up with Indiana recruit, Griffin Tobias, along with Senior Blake Sivak who is coming off a 9-0 record as a junior, and a plethora of talented junior arms to create one of the deepest pitching units in the state.

Andrew Krupa OF / Center Grove, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 28 / POS: 5 Center Grove returns only a few everyday starters from a team that reached Victory Field in 2023 and will need Krupa, a Ball State recruit, to step into a run producing role as a junior in order to repeat their successes. A projectable, athletic, 6-foot-4, 180 pound frame looks the part of a premier left-handed bat and Krupa's performances at last year's Future Games, and on the fall circuit in 2023, creates positive momentum entering his junior season. Despite losing key players to graduation, Center Grove appears to have reloaded once again heading into this spring and Krupa's bat should be indicative of the overall depth that the Trojans' lineup possesses.

Kellen English RHP / North High School, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 30 / POS: 12 Owning one of the highest ceilings in Indiana's 2025 class, English had solid performances at both the Top Prospect Games and the Future Games in 2023, leading to his commitment to Indiana University at the conclusion of the 2023 fall. The 6-foot-8, ultra-projectable right-hander has an innate ability to spin the ball with some of the most impressive fastball properties in the class, and he will look to use that carry fastball as he steps into a prominent role this season for the North Huskies. North figures to be one of the strongest Evansville-area teams in 2024 and a strong season from English could lead to a playoff run.

Noah Drake OF / Castle, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 32 / POS: 8 Drake enters his first season in a Castle uniform this spring and will join a squad that made a semi-state appearance in 2023. An Indiana recruit, Drake will provide immediate impact to the middle of the Knights lineup with his powerful left-handed swing - a swing that produced multiple upper-90s exit velocities at the Top Tier Athletics Scout Day this fall. Drake's bat speed and pull-side juice will compliment a solid Knights' lineup that will surely compete as one of the better programs in the Evansville-area this spring.

Lucas Collins LHP / Bishop Dwenger, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 36 / POS: 4 Collins will take the field in a Bishop Dwenger uniform for the first time this spring and will team up with 2024 MLB Draft prospect and Indiana signee, Brayton Thomas, to form one of the toughest left-handed duo's within the state. Currently uncommitted - Collins has generated plenty of buzz with recruiters heading into his junior spring and stands as one of the most sought after uncommitted arms in Indiana's junior class. A strong fastball (T 87 mph) complimented by an above average changeup and budding slider should allow the 6-foot southpaw to have plenty of success for Dwenger in his junior campaign.

Brayden Stevenson C / RHP / Pendleton Heights High School, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 42 / POS: 2 Stevenson enters 2024 with plenty of positive momentum after showing well at the Canes Scout Weekend, and at the Hoosier Holiday in December. A projectable, 6-foot-2, 195 pound two-way player, Stevenson should slot into the Arabians' pitching rotation to provide an electric arm into the mix. Stevenson reached 89 mph on his fastball in the fall and continues to elevate himself as a pitching prospect each time we see him on the mound. The rapid growth he has shown as an arm will make him an exciting spring follow for Pendleton. Stevenson will also be counted on to hit in a run producing role this spring for an Arabians' lineup with a solid group of junior bats.

River Pecina OF / Penn High School, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 45 / POS: 10 Pecina should slot into an everyday CF role for the two-time defending State Champions as they lose multi-year starter, Cooper Hums, to Western Michigan. Pecina saw a bit of time as a sophomore, but should vault into a top of the order bat in the Kingsmen lineup this sping. A twitchy, athletic, 5-foot-10, 170 pounder that has the foot-speed of a next-level centerfielder, Pecina will also be a defensive asset behind a strong Penn pitching staff this spring.

Ethan Dorsey RHP / Cathedral, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 54 / POS: 22 Dorsey enters his first full season wearing the Navy & Gold and will be counted on to pace the Cathedral pitching staff. A Future Gamer in 2023 for Team Indiana, Dorsey's above average three pitch mix, highlighted by a swing-and-miss splitter that works in the mid-70s, should garner college interest this season and his role as the ace of the staff will be largely indicative of the team's overall success against other top ranked opponents. The Irish will have one of the stronger lineups in the state, so a big season from Dorsey will sure up any question marks around their overall pitching depth.

Nolan Hataway LHP / Avon Community High School, IN / 2025 Rankings  StateRank: 55 / POS: 5 Hataway is an easy breakout canidate, toeing the rubber at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds with a firm fastball (T 85 mph) from the left side. The projectable southpaw attacks from a high, over-the-top arm slot and his overall command and breaking ball both took steps up in looks throughout the 2023 fall. Hataway will look to break into a deeper Avon pitching staff, but he undoubtedly possesses the ability to help the Orioles to success in the HCC. After making encouraging improvements in the fall, I am excited to get eyes on this upside prospect at our Preseason All-State, as well as early in the spring season.
