Future Games Preview : Team Indiana's Arms

Cooper Trinkle
Lead Scout

The premier scouting event of the summer, the Futures Games, is set to take place from July 24 through July 27th at LakePoint in Emerson, GA. The Futures Games will feature some of the top 2026 uncommitted prospects from all over the country.

Team Indiana is always known for having plenty of high-end pitchers, and this year is no different, with the roster featuring four arms that have been clocked at 90 mph or better, multiple national-level 2026 prospects, and a group of arms that have a chance to breakout in a big way.

Matthew Cook RHP / Hanover Central , IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Projectable (6-foot-4, 195 lbs), strike-thrower that profiles as a SP. Unique, low 3/4 slot plays from a 3'9" release height with above-average extension. Fastball works in the mid-80s, touching 88 mph, with significant arm-side life. Best offspeed pitch at the moment is a mid-70s slider with sweeper properties. Upper-70s change is a usable third pitch. GPA (3.50)

Colt DeHart OF / RHP / Indian Creek Sr High School, IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Two-way player with significant upside on both sides of the ball. One of the easiest deliveries in the class, mid-80s fastball currently, touches 87 mph, easy to dream on more when combining the ease of operation with the projectable, athletic, 6-foot-2 frame. Plenty of feel for a mid-70s change, his best pitch currently, sweeps the breaking ball in the mid-70s. GPA (3.80)

Beckett Doane LHP / Noblesville, IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Ultra-projectable southpaw with a 6-foot-6, 200 pound frame. Provides a unique look with a full arm circle that works to a low 3/4 release. Slot appears to come out of RCF to provide deception. SP profile - fastball has climbed up to 90 mph with sinker properties. Upper-70s splitter is a swing-and-miss offering at times. Shows some feel to spin, can add / subtract on a breaking ball that sweeps, works in the upper-70s, occassionally into the low-80s. One of the top uncommitted arms in the class, should draw a crowd on Thursday night. GPA (3.30)

Gannon Grant RHP / SS Center Grove , IN / 2026

Scouting Report : One of the more athletic arms in the class, doubles as a slick-fielding shortstop. 6-foot-2, 185 pound frame holds room to add. Electric arm that has been up to 93 mph this summer, pitches at 88-91. High-spin slider works in the mid-70s, spins in the 26-2700 range, future out-pitch. Also shows feel for upper-70s change that he will throw to RH and LH hitters alike, generates significant horizontal break. Must-see guy. GPA (3.75)

Kaleb Hacker RHP / Portage High School, IN / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 33 / POS: 13

Scouting Report : One of the more physical arms on the staff, stands at 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds. Arm works continous on the backside, produces a carry fastball at 85-88 mph, averaging over 19" of IVB. Gyro-type slider spins in the mid-70s. Offers a mid-to-upper-70s changeup, as well. Intriguing upside to the operation. GPA (3.85)

Jeremy Lowrey RHP / Harrison (West Lafayette), IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Projectable (6-foot-2, 180 lbs), strike-thrower that profiles as a SP. Easy-effort mover with a clean arm to pair. Has run his fastball up to 89 mph, pitches more in the mid-80s with consistent fastball command. Upper-70s change is the best offspeed pitch at the moment, plays with significant arm-side fade. Spins an above-average breaking ball that works in the mid-to-upper-70s. Shows feel for all three, best days are well-ahead. GPA (3.34)

Jaxon Lueken RHP / Forest Park Jr-Sr High School, IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Natural athlete, still has not scratched the surface of his potential. Wiry, 6-foot-3, 180 pounder with ample room to add. Uses front arm as a lever to create arm speed within an athletic delivery. Fastball has reached 90 mph with more in the tank, flashes the ability to carry it with above-average extension. Mid-70s slider works with sweep and has trended in the right direction over the past 12 months. One of the more projectable arms on the staff. GPA (4.00)

Owen Lukac LHP / Fishers High School, IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Highly-athletic, low-slot slinger that has had a huge summer. Wiry, 6-foot-1, 165 pound frame holds room for growth. Low 3/4 slot, near sidearm at times, creates big arm-side life on a fastball that works in the mid-80s, has touched 89 mph. Best pitch is his 74-77 mph slider, plays with sharp sweep, spinning in the 24-2600 range. Slider looks the part of a next-level out-pitch, will also flash an upper-70s change, creates arm-side fade on it. GPA (3.00)

Gavin Lykins RHP / Plainfield High School, IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Another highly-projectable arm on the staff, 6-foot-4, 200 pounder. Fastball currently works in the upper-80s, touching 89 mph, with ride/run properties (21" IVB, 19" HZB), and above-average extension. Mid-70s slider and low-70s change are developmental pitches at this time. Has a chance to be one of the hardest throwers on this list when it's all said & done. GPA (3.83)

Ryan Murphy LHP / Brownsburg High School, IN / 2026

Rankings  StateRank: 34 / POS: 3

Scouting Report : Athletic, 6-foot-1, 155 pound southpaw that looks the part of a starter. Fastball has touched 86, pitches in the low-to-mid-80s with ride/run properties. One of the better arm actions on the staff + an easy, athletic delivery. High-spin breaking ball works in the upper-60s to low-70s, spins at 2500+, and he is able to manipulate shape with it. Flashes a low-70s change to round out a starter's mix. GPA (3.00)

Kellen Thomson RHP / Center Grove, IN / 2026

Scouting Report : High-ceiling arm, SP profile. Projectable, 6-foot-4 right-hander. Athletic delivery pairs with a compact, continous arm on the backside, high front-side creates deception. Fastball has been up to 89 mph, will pitch in the mid-to-upper-80s with arm-side life to the heater. Best pitch is an upper-70s changeup that he shows a ton of feel & confidence for. Bullet slider works in the upper-70s and is a usable third pitch. Fastball should trend, high-pitchability guy. GPA (4.20)

Aiden Smith RHP / Shelbyville, IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Uber-athletic, 6-foot-3 right-hander. Elite mover with a clean arm to pair - screams starter profile. Fastball has touched 93 mph, consistently pitches in the 87-90 range. Fastball flashes carry, will sink it in the upper-80s, as well. Low-80s slider is tightly-spun, plays with sweep. Shows a low-80s change that is a usable pitch, shows upside. Huge ceiling with present pitch-ability, will draw a crowd to his start on Friday. GPA (4.00)

Jake Winger 3B / RHP McCutcheon High School, IN / 2026

Scouting Report : Intriguing two-way prospect. More advanced on the offensive side of the ball but shows upside on the bump. 6-foot-5, 210 pound frame makes it easy to project his best days as a pitcher are well-ahead. Fastball has touched 90 mph, consistently pitches in the mid-to-upper 80s. Shows feel for an upper-70s change with a usable slider that works in the mid-70s, slider will flash, at times. Lacks repeatability at the moment, but an interesting watch nonetheless. GPA (3.97)
