After a busy fall that consisted of a number of scout days, open events, invite-only events like our Fall State Games, and a handful of PBRT tournaments - we have updated our sophomore (2026) class rankings and expanded to 150 prospects. This class is evolving into a very talented class, boasting double digit division one commits before the NCAA rule was put into place last spring, pushing recruiting back until August 1st of a player's junior year. While most of this list remains similiar to our last update, read along to find which 2026 grads find themselves rising after a strong fall.

Top 10 Notes

A pair of Top 50 national recruits in RHP Hudson Devaughan (Mooresville) and SS Dylan Bowen (Hanover Central) remain at the top of this class. Devaughan, an Alabama recruit, holds significant upside with his projectable, 6-foot-3, 175 pound frame. Possessing premier arm talent - Devaughan (video) was consistently up to 92 mph on his fastball during his freshman campaign and his power curveball that works at 77-80 mph is a potential-plus offering.

Bowen (video) saw his stock rise significantly during the 2023 season, turning into one of the top uncommitted 2026s on the national level. Read below to hear what Shooter Hunt had to say about Bowen following the 2023 PBR Future Games. 

From 9/8/23 : Bowen put a stamp on his breakout summer with a strong showing at Lakepoint for the Future Games. The 5-foot-11, 161-pound, pristine athlete posted a 6.72 60-yard dash time before dancing around at shortstop looking the part of a premium defender at the next level. At the plate, there is a quiet intensity to the way the right-handed hitter handles himself in the box, and his polished approach delivered barrel after barrel at the Future Games as well as the rest of the summer. Still maturing physically, there is a strong chance that Bowen is only just getting started and might continue to rise even higher in coming years.

A pair of upside right-handed arms hold down the next two spots in RHP Aiden Smith (Shelbyville) and RHP Sammy Swank (McCutcheon). Smith (video) is the highest ranked uncommitted arm in the class, sure to be a big name on the recruiting trail next summer. A wiry, athletic, 6-foot-3, 170 pounder - Smith offers a four-pitch mix that lives in the zone, is an ultra-competitor on the mound that thrives in the big moment, and his overall stuff gets better and better with each look we get on him. Swank, a projectable, 6-foot-3, 190 pound Kentucky recruit, attacks with a long, loose, and whippy arm action that produces a fastball up to 91 mph, along with two above average offspeed offerings. 

Three players that have become staples in the 2026 Top 10 appear in the next three spots in : RHP Kobe Cherry (Center Grove), SS Aiden Reynolds (Noblesville), & RHP Rhys Wolf (Martinsville). Cherry (video) sees a slight rise to the #5 spot after a strong performance at the PBR Future Games as an underclassman. An uber-physical, 6-foot-4, 230 pound power-righty - Cherry holds starter upside with command of a three-pitch mix, including a fastball that reaches 90 mph and a power curveball with future-plus potential. Reynolds, an Indiana recruit, has one of the most impactful hit-tools in the class and remains in the #6 slot. Wolf possesses one of the top breaking balls in the class, a mid-70s offering that shows swing-and-miss traits. The athletic Notre Dame recruit also offers a fastball up to 90 mph to go along with very solid command of the strike zone.

A pair of arms remain at #8 and #9 in LHP Beckett Doane (Noblesville) and RHP Tate Troxell (Guerin Catholic). Doane, a unanimous "pick-to-click" amongst our staff - holds some of the highest upside of any 2026 prospect with his 6-foot-5, 185 pound frame. A strike-thrower that attacks with some funk from a low 3/4 arm slot - Doane (video) can really control the strike zone with a running fastball in the low-to-mid 80s, a number that will tick up sooner rather than later. The lanky southpaw keeps hitters off balance with a diving, low-to-mid 70s splitter and is also able to manipulate shape with his breaking ball. Troxell remains at #9, an Alabama recruit with a 6-foot-4, 220 pound frame, offering a fastball that works in the mid-to-upper 80s (T90 mph) and strike-throwing capabilities with a three-pitch mix. 

Risers in the Top 30 

Colt DeHart OF / RHP / Indian Creek, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 10 / POS: 1 The lone new face to the Top 10 - Dehart sees a climb up the 2026 rankings list after a strong fall season. Dehart has added noticeable size & strength to his 6-foot-2, 185 pound frame that has translated to improved bat strength, straight-line speed, and arm strength. A true two-way prospect - Dehart offers a valuable profile, a left-handed hitter with a power/speed combo, posting a 6.85 60 during the fall of 2023 along with showing gap-to-gap strength with a fluid, uphill stroke. Dehart also holds significant upside as a right-handed pitcher, using a balanced delivery with a clean, compact arm action to produce a low-effort fastball that has reached 86 mph with late arm-side run. The projectable righty compliments his fastball with one of the better changeups in the class, a mid-70s offering that he is confident throwing to both right-handed and left-handed hitters, and he also can spin a sweeping breaking ball in the low-to-mid 70s. A clean mover with an easy delivery - it is easy to dream on the fastball velocity making significant gains in the coming years.

Rob Czarniecki OF / C / Chesterton, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 11 / POS: 2  Coaches searching for an impact bat in the ‘26 class need to prioritize looks at Czarniecki next summer as the muscular, 6-foot-2, 195 pounder delivers barrel-after-barrel each time I get eyes on him. Czarniecki's powerful lower-half ignites the swing and his bat turns connected to his back shoulder to deliver a heavy barrel on a level plane through the hitting zone. Above average straight-line speed (6.90 runner) adds excitement to the offensive profile and instincts on the base-paths show up between the lines. Czarniecki offers an interesting defensive profile - an athletic outfielder with arm strength that also has the ability to stick behind the dish.

Kellen Thomson RHP / Center Grove High School, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 15 / POS: 7 Thomson has everything you're looking for in a young arm - an athletic, projectable, 6-foot-4, 190 pound frame, complete command of a three-pitch mix, and a balanced, easy-effort delivery - all traits to suggest Thomson holds Power 5 potential. The arm swing works uninterrupted, releasing from a high 3/4 slot, producing a low-to-mid 80s fastball that has reached 85 mph while spinning a firm, 74-77 mph slider that induces chase. His ability to spin a firm slider, with effortless arm speed, suggests a velocity jump is sure-to-come in the near future. Thomson flashes a mid-70s changeup, a quality offering that he has confidence in, allowing for long-term starter projections.

Blake Cope 1B / OF / Zionsville, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 19 / POS: 1 One of the more physical bats in the class - Cope continues to shoot up the list thanks to one of the loudest toolsets of any Indiana 2026 grad. The 6-foot-2, 195 pound left-handed hitter grades near the top of the class in bat speed (upper-70s), exit velocity (95+ mph), and straight-line speed (6.83). Delivering one of the heaviest barrels in the class, Cope holds serious raw power that he was able to tap into this fall while playing against older competition. A primary 1B with the athleticism to pop out to a corner outfield spot, Cope should garner plenty of attention from college coaches when recruiting picks back up for 2026 grads at the end of next summer.

Jake Winger 3B / RHP / McCutcheon High School, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 20 / POS: 1 One of my favorite swings in the class with all-kinds of traits to dream on, Winger showed noticeable strength gains during the fall season and is beginning to look the part of a future power bat. The projectable, 6-foot-3, 180 pounder turns an uphill barrel that enters the hitting zone on-plane and works to extension, producing present gap-to-gap strength. The corner infielder is an above average athlete, a 7.15 runner, and that number should continue to improve as he matures. Winger holds upside as a potential two-way prospect, a projectable right-handed arm with a balanced delivery and low-effort, low 80s fastball.

Sean Dunlap C / Crown Point High School, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 21 / POS: 2 Dunlap was tabbed as the unoffical MVP of our Fall State Games, emerging as the biggest winner of the event, along with putting together a strong fall season at multiple Prep Baseball Tournaments. A physical backstop with power from the right side of the dish, Dunlap launches from a lower handset allowing for loft in the path. The bat works through the hitting zone with some of the best bat speed in the class (upper 70s bat speed) allowing for present impact (94.7 mph exit velocity) and the 6-foot-3, 185 pound frame still holds room for added strength. Behind the dish, Dunlap shows above average receiving abilities along with one of the better catch-and-throw tools in the 2026 class - producing pop times that range from 1.94 - 2.04 and a 78 mph arm from the crouch.

Desmond Francis SS / CF / Park Tutor, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 26 / POS: 6 One of the premier athletes in Indiana's 2026 class, Francis has steadily improved his game each time we get eyes on him as he sees a climb during this update. A 5-foot-9, 160 pound middle of the diamond defender, Francis currently holds the best 60 yard dash we have seen of any Indiana 2026 grad, posting a 6.61 60 during the summer of 2023. Francis' feet really impact the game on the base-paths as he shows the ability to steal bases at will during gameplay. At the dish, Francis shows above average feel to hit with quick hands that whip the barrel on a short, direct path to create line drive contact.

Gavin Lykins RHP / Plainfield, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 28 / POS: 13 A Fall State Games standout with a very high ceiling - Lykins is a '26 arm with the potential to continue to climb this list. An uber-projectable, 6-foot-4, 188 pounder, Lykins showed flashes of his immense ceiling throughout multiple looks in the fall of 2023. The long-levered right-hander works from a high, over-the-top slot (6.8' release height) to create carry (20"+ IVB) on a fastball that has reached 85 mph. The fastball is able to work above barrels and is complimented by a slurvey, low 70s breaking ball.

Beckett Suh SS / RHP / University, IN / 2026 Rankings  StateRank: 30 / POS: 7 Suh, a consumate performer throughout our fall coverage, makes his way up to the #30 spot. A switch-hitting shortstop with standout defensive abilities, Suh creates easy barrel flick that allows for adjustability in the box. Hand-eye stands out for the 5-foot-11, 180 pounder and the barrel accuracy shows up in-game again & again. Fluid movement patterns in everything he does suggest that his overall abilities should continue to trend upwards. A two-way standout, Suh is a very clean mover on the mound with obvious body control, possessing a future-plus breaking ball that he is able to manipulate shape on, creating true sweep on his slider (-14.5" sweep ; 0.4" depth) while also spinning his curveball with depth. Suh's ability to pitch off spin allows his low-80s (T 83 mph) fastball to play up.
